My Troublesome Star Episode 7 Recap
The episode opens with Se-ra planning to make her attack come to her to catch them easily, which Cheol is dead-set against, while Du-won tries to convince Hui-yeong that keeping Se-ra close would make more sense for them. Se-ra tries to convince Cheol to stay by her side so that they can end this madness once and for all, and her moving words leave Cheol convinced.
With Se-ra’s encouragement and his boss’s go-ahead, Cheol marches ahead with her plan to take Ju Seung-pil down. Elsewhere, Se-ra’s fame leaves Hui-yeong incensed. That night, on her way back home, Du-won asks Se-ra to meet her at a bar, and she directly asks him who the man from 25 years ago was. Du-won is immediately uncomfortable but tells her that the man she had met is dead. Either way, she tells him that she is ready to join 2ONE Entertainment only if Cheol is allowed to come with her as well.

Later, an arrested Dae-gu is taken out of questioning by a team of high-end lawyers, leaving Cheol to wonder who is backing this guy up and, more importantly, why. He eventually finds the answers in his stuff, from which he finds a recording device that has him conspiring with someone to kill Se-ra. Cheol further overhears Seung-pil, too, asking Dae-gu to kill Se-ra, which is the perfect smoking gun that Cheol needed to get Dae-gu to confess.
The next morning, Se-ra gets the deal he was hoping for with Du-won and is ecstatic, but soon, during her conversation with Cheol comes to realise that the person who is after her life might be someone close to her. It’s a heartbreaking realisation for her, which is soon overshadowed by some gifts that Cheol has got for her. Unfortunately, it turns out to be just safety gear. Either way, Se-ra is happy with the progress she has made and furthermore, when her father recognises her.
On her next shoot day for a commercial, she is shocked to see the storyboard and, more so, that she will be working alongside Hui-yeong. Awkward and uncomfortable, she tries to make the best of the situation, but Hui-yeong makes it extremely difficult. In the end, Se-ra walks out in a huff but that results in a cancellation fee for her. Seeing Se-ra’s situation, Cheol decides to apologise to Hui-yeong and even kneel in front of her but in complete view of the cameras around her! In the end, Hui-yeong has to accept taking on the commercial shooting once again. But of course, here too, Se-ra is mercilessly bullied.

In the end, she learns that Cheol was the one who convinced Hui-yeong to do the shoot and is left heartbroken at his ordeal. He, however, comforts her, telling her that he is her manager and this is just part of the job. Later, as her drama comes to an end, she and Cheol are shocked to learn that her true identity has made headlines and she isn’t safe anymore. As they run from reporters, however, things turn a bit more lighthearted.
In the epilogue, Du-won asks another agent to lock down Won Ban for Se-ra’s comeback vehicle and when he disconnects, the star appears, excited to star in the drama, hoping to reignite her relationship with Se-ra that remained unfulfilled.
My Troublesome Star Episode 7 Review

It’s not that I don’t like this drama; on the contrary, I think My Troublesome Star is very entertaining. However, my problem with this drama is the female lead’s characterisation and behaviour which don’t seem realistic or entertaining. I like the story but it’s this childish characterisation that is really taking me out of the story. Either way, I am looking forward to Se-ra slapping Du-won in the next episode, that seems like an interesting direction.
