Moving In With Malaika Episode 7 Review: Malaika and Nora Fatehi Set the Stage on Fire

Moving in With Malaika Episode 7 premiered on December 14, 2022, with a runtime of 27 minutes. The brand new reality show will centre around actress, model, dancer and VJ Malaika Arora. Created by Malaika herself, along with Banijay Asia, the show will give us an exclusive and up-close look at the life of the Indian celebrity.

The actress rose to fame for her appearance in the famous Bollywood song Chaiyyan Chaiyyan from the movie Dil Se.. along with Shah Rukh Khan. She has been in the public eye ever since, and her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salmaan Khan, is one of the most talked about instances around the town. She has also been a victim of internet trolls following her dating news with Arjun Kapoor.

Hence, she has decided to take matters into her own hands and create a show that will show her true self.

Disney+ Hotstar description of the show reads:

ALL SET TO SHOWCASE HER TRUE SELF, MALAIKA WILL SHUT DOWN TROLLS IN HER QUINTESSENTIAL ARORA STYLE AS SHE OPENS UP ABOUT HER LIFE

-Moving In With Malaika Episode 7 Review Contains No Spoilers-

The episode starts with Malaika arriving at Terrance Lewis’ dance studio to practise. As discussed in the previous episode, they decided to perform it on Malaika’s representative song Chaiyyan Chaiyyan but with a twist. Instead of getting on a train and performing solo, they decided to include Nora Fatehi and give it a modern touch.

Malaika reaches the studio on time, but Nora is nowhere to be found, which makes Malaika irritated. As a senior in the industry, it seems like Malaika felt disrespected by the incident. Terrance compliments Malaika for her good habit and talks about how punctuality in the industry is the key to success. Finally, Nora arrives on the set, and they resume practising.

Many trivial disagreements and arguments arise between the celebrities as it was their first time performing together. With her fun and energetic personality, Nora keeps the show light and enjoyable. Subsequently, they deliver a sizzling performance at the end of the episode.

Both Malaika and Nora looked gorgeous. They showed off their dancing skills in an intricate dance routine. It is worth mentioning that Malaika, at the age of 49, can still do those moves, which is quite inspiring. And Nora, who did not have any professional dance training prior to coming into the industry, is also commendable.

Besides the dance performance, nothing worthwhile happens in the episode. It often feels like the creators are constantly undermining their viewers’ intelligence with the tactics they pull to keep them engaged. Their attempt to create forced drama between the celebrities was not needed.

Moving In With Malaika Episode 7: Final Thoughts

The creators tried to create unnecessary drama throughout the episode and failed miserably. It was evident that most scenes were scripted and did not require suspense or dramatic background music to insinuate a non-existent argument. The episode was enjoyable with Nora since she has a very bright personality. But the attempt to create a mountain out of a molehill interrupts the episode’s flow and leaves a bitter taste.

The episode felt more like a dance show rather than anything substantial. The audience will witness a dance performance by the two beautiful celebrities, but nothing else happens during the thirty minutes. It was bland and repetitive.
