Brief Build Up Episode 5 Recap
The episode commenced with the culmination of the 2vs2 mission, featuring the showdown between Hong Sung-won X TAEHWAN and Lim Jun-hyeok X Yeo One. Following a closely contested performance, Yeo One’s team emerged victorious by a mere one-point difference, highlighting the commendable efforts of both groups. Subsequently, Lim Sang-hyun and Taewoon’s team clinched victory in the remaining performances, leading to the selection of all 20 contestants who faced potential elimination.
Lee Da-hee then announced the 10 contestants who secured their spot as survivors, advancing to the next round from the pool of 20 elimination candidates. With this announcement, the tense atmosphere of the elimination round concluded. Transitioning from the elimination phase, the host unveiled the next mission to the contestants, dubbed the Triple Death Mission. This mission entailed a head-to-head 3-on-3 match, where winning teams would secure survival while the losing team members faced elimination. Notably, teams from the previous 2vs2 mission were tasked with selecting one member from the pool of 10 survivors to strengthen their lineup.

The selection process began with the highest-scoring team, WUMUTI and Kang Hayoon, strategically choosing Jay Chang, praised by judges for his exceptional performance. This strategic move enhanced their team’s strength and instilled a sense of apprehension among other contestants. Following suit, Kim Min-seo and Bain, the second-highest scoring team, opted for BITSAEON, recognizing the importance of securing strong performers to ensure their team’s advancement. This emphasized the significance of achieving high scores not only for individual survival but also for bolstering team dynamics in subsequent rounds.
Each team sequentially recruited their third member, setting the stage for the crucial matching process. Teams with the lowest total scores from the 2nd round initiated the matching, while the highest-scoring team had the privilege of selecting their preferred match if multiple teams targeted the same opponent. The episode culminated in the commencement of the chosen match, featuring the introduction of special judge 2 AM’s Lim Seul-ong. With anticipation high, the competition unfolded, showcasing the performance of one team in this intense episode.
