Lakadbaggha Trailer: Anshuman Jha Is the Hero Next Door Taking Up Arms Against Animal Abuse

Usually dogs are considered to be a man’s best friend, but in the upcoming First Ray Films release, Lakadbaggha, Anshuman Jha is the one-man-army who’s sworn to protect our beloved co-habitants. Directed by Victor Mukherjee, the movie has been produced by Jha himself, with Alok Sharma joining in as the story’s writer and its action-packed sequences have been helmed by Jaika Stunts (Kecha Khamphakdee) and Force Square.

Alongside Jha, the titular cast of the film is led by Ridhi Dogra, Paresh Pahuja and Milind Soman. While the title of the film translates to ‘hyena’ in English, the initial introduction of the storyline stands with Jha’s character being an animal lover who can’t help but embark on the search for all the disappearing street dogs across Kolkatta.

His riveting journey lends him the identity of the masked vigilante, Arjun Bakshi, who eventually uncovers an underground illegal trade of animal happening at the Kolkata port, also harbouring a rare species of the Striped Hyena aka Lakadbaggha. Upon having come across the animal, he takes it in and the last scene of the trailer is testament to their unlikely team-up.

The leading face of the movie, Anshuman, though introduced as this everyday and relatable character out on the streets, a melomaniac, who always has his headphones on and shares a soft spot for dogs, eventually evolves into something bigger in this ordinary yet remarkable story. Even the actor himself shared a piece of his mind for the forthcoming cinematic release – “Arjun Bakshi is a dog’s best friend. And I am grateful to have had the opportunity to train in Krav-Maga & bring his ordinary yet extraordinary character to life. Being ordinary is a super power”.

Ridhi Dogra, his co-star in the film also added, “Lakadbaggha is truly a special film – it has action, thrill but also a soul. It is obviously special for me since its my big screen debut as Akshara. And I can’t wait for the world to watch it on January 13th 2023″. On the other hand, Paresh Pahuja is the despicable antagonist figure behind it all, as Jha’s Arjun Bakshi soon catches up to him and teaches him a lesson and lets his punches do the talking for him.
