Jung_E Teaser: Kronoid Lab At Work to Create a Safer Future

Jung_E Teaser reveals an upcoming South Korean science fiction film, set to be released on Netflix next year. This riveting action-drama is from the popular series Hellbound’s director Yeon Sang-ho. In Korean, the title is 정이 (Jeong-yi), which can be inferred as somebody’s name. Even the teaser description reads – Release of Kronoid Lab, Most advanced A.I. combat warrior, and could be the name of the AI robot.

The official synopsis of the film reads, “In a post-apocalyptic 22nd century, a researcher at an AI lab leads the effort to end a civil war by cloning the brain of a heroic soldier — her mother.” It will have a runtime of about 1 hour and 38 minutes.

The cast revealed so far includes Kang Soo-yeon as Seohyun – she is the team leader of a research institute that develops brain cloning and AI technologies and is responsible for Jung_E’s brain clone and combat power test. This film also marks her final appearance as she passed away earlier this year.

Kim Hyun-joo will play the role of Jung_E, she is a former leader of the Allied Forces and the subject of a brain cloning experiment. While Ryu Kyung-soo will play the role of Sang-Hoon, the head of a research institute who must succeed in the experiment. Both of the actors are also featured in Hellbound together.

The film will be set in the 22nd century when climate change has caused the planet to become uninhabitable and humans live within a man-made shelter. However, a war has started within the shelter. And to combat this life-threatening issue, Jung-E becomes the subject of a brain cloning experiment, as they believe that this is a potential key to winning the war.

In the teaser, we get glimpses of the kind of world people live in and there, right in the middle of it is the Kronoid Lab. There stands the statue of a human body in an anatomical state, with one missing eye and a butterfly sitting on the middle finger. At the lab, scientists are busy working on different AIs, as they are committed to creating a safer world.
