Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Major Character Deaths
Riko Amanai
Riko Amanai, known as the Star Plasma Vessel, found herself entwined with a profound destiny; she was fated to undergo a merging with Master Tengen, an intricate process designed to arrest the relentless march of time and stave off the inexorable grasp of ageing. This sacrificial union was deemed indispensable for preserving the delicate equilibrium that sustained the world in its cosmic dance.
However, dissenters emerged, fervently opposing the idea of Tengen becoming “impure” through amalgamation with a mere mortal. Gojo and Geto, formidable defenders, stood as guardians shielding Riko from the relentless assaults of myriad curse users. Despite their valiant efforts, they were powerless to avert the tragic culmination of events orchestrated by Toji Fushiguro.
Toji, a lethal operative commissioned by the formidable Time Vessel Association, executed his mission with ruthless efficiency. In the blink of an eye, a solitary gunshot pierced the air, snuffing out the vibrant life of the young girl. The repercussions of Riko’s untimely demise reverberated through the lives of Gojo and Geto, irrevocably altering the trajectory of what was once their “happy” high school existence. The echoes of her death lingered, casting a shadow over the erstwhile serenity of their lives.
Toji Fushiguro
Toji finds himself entangled in a fierce confrontation against both Gojo and Geto. In the initial round, Toji emerges victorious over Gojo, demonstrating his prowess in combat, and ruthlessly murders Riko. In the aftermath, Gojo, driven by an intense desire to triumph, resorts to using Reversed Cursed Energy on himself. The consequences of overusing his Limitless and Six Eyes become apparent as he becomes delirious. The ensuing battle is a spectacular display of power, with Gojo unleashing every ounce of his formidable abilities against Toji.
The confrontation is brief yet intense, culminating in Gojo utilizing his Hollow Purple Technique to devastating effect. Half of Toji’s torso is obliterated in the wake of Gojo’s overwhelming power. In his final moments, Toji unveils a startling revelation—that his son Megumi is destined to be sold to the Zenin Clan. In a surprising turn of events, Toji, without explicitly stating it, implores Gojo to intervene and save his son.
Although the words are not expressly uttered, Toji’s silent plea resonates with Gojo, prompting him to comply with the unspoken request. The battle concludes with a blend of tragedy and redemption as Toji’s sacrifice secures a chance for his son’s salvation at the hands of the powerful and compassionate Gojo.
Jogo
Experiencing a crushing defeat at the hands of Gojo proved insufficient to shatter Jogo’s unwavering pride and arrogance. Despite the unfavourable outcome, he maintained an unyielding belief that circumstances would ultimately align in his favour. However, this self-assuredness exacted a heavy toll. Within the spectrum of fatalities depicted in Jujutsu Kaisen, perhaps the most gratifying demise unfolds in Jogo’s case, given his extensive history of committing heinous acts.
Jogo, in a display of brutal force, compels Yuji to ingest ten of Sukuna’s fingers, thereby endowing the young protagonist with a formidable total of 15 fingers. Predictably, the sudden surge in power overwhelms even Yuji, leading to the eventual domination of his body by the notorious King of Curses. Fortunately, Sukuna’s initial course of action involves addressing the nuisance that is Jogo, who, in a twist of fate, finds himself on the receiving end of Sukuna’s wrath.
Nanami Kento
In the Shibuya Incident arc of Jujutsu Kaisen, the demise that took everyone by surprise was none other than that of Nanami Kento, a formidable sorcerer boasting the esteemed Grade 1 rank. As the narrative unfolded, Nanami found himself entangled in a series of harrowing encounters with humans grotesquely transformed by the malevolent Mahito. Despite grappling with severe injuries, his concern extended beyond himself to encompass the well-being of Megumi, Maki, and Naobito.
Nanami’s path converged with his destined adversary, Mahito. The gravity of the moment was underscored by Nanami’s reflections on Yu Haibara, a departed comrade, as he laid eyes on Yuji, a striking resemblance to his late friend. In an emotionally charged denouement, Nanami, teetering on the brink of exhaustion, entrusted the mantle of the future to Yuji with a poignant utterance, “You’ve got it from here.” This heartfelt declaration unfolded just before Mahito, in a swift and ruthless motion, obliterated Nanami’s upper body, leaving an indelible mark on the Shibuya Incident arc.
Nobara Kugisaki
While Nobara’s strength may not match that of Yuji and Megumi, she courageously confronts challenges without evading them. Engaging in a formidable confrontation with Mahito, her natural adversary, Nobara exhibits commendable resilience. Despite her valiant efforts, an unexpected sneak attack from the curse catches everyone by surprise.
In a moment reminiscent of the visual portrayal in the opening sequence of the Shibuya arc, Nobara instinctively touches her face, realizing the dire consequences. The exact nature of her fate remains officially undisclosed, enveloping her status in an air of uncertainty. Nevertheless, all available indicators strongly suggest a tragically conclusive outcome for her character.
Mahito
As the intense and climactic conclusion of the Shibuya Incident arc unfolds within the captivating narrative of Jujutsu Kaisen, the dynamic clash between Mahito and Yuji reaches a boiling point. In a surprising turn of events, Todo emerges abruptly onto the scene, fervently rallying to support his beleaguered friend amidst the chaotic battlefield.
Haunted by the overwhelming guilt stemming from the tragic consequences of his actions, Yuji finds himself in a state of emotional disarray. The devastation deepens as he witnesses the heartbreaking demise of his comrades, Nanami and Nobara, unfolding right before his anguished eyes. The emotional turmoil threatens to consume him entirely, creating a tumultuous backdrop for the decisive confrontation with Mahito.
Yuji manages to muster the strength to persevere, guided by the unwavering support of Todo. Together, they confront and ultimately triumph over Mahito. Before Yuji can deliver the final blow to the cursed entity, a shocking twist unfolds as Kenjaku exploits Geto’s ability, utilizing it to absorb Mahito.
