Jay B who was formerly known as JB, the leader of the K-pop boy band GOT7, celebrates his birthday today. Although, his musical talent is no surprise to the people who have been following his music since the group debuted. We have curated some of the best song tracks that are credited to the singer for writing and composing, to let everyone know about his musical versatility, on his special day.
8 Songs Composed By Jay B
Everyday
Everyday (매일) is the second track on Mad Winter Edition which is a repackage of GOT7’s fourth mini album Mad. It was released on November 23, 2015. Jay B has taken part in writing and composing the song. The sweet melody is relaxing to hear, and the lyrics can be inferred as saying thanks to their fans/lovers for being with them. I discovered this song in a community playlist and was surprised to know that it was a GOT7 song as it was not pop or hip like other tracks.
Fish
It is the fourth track on Flight Log: Departure, which is the fifth mini-album by GOT7. It was released on March 21, 2016, with Fly as the album’s title track. The title track was hilariously spoiled by the member Younjae in a VLive and was an instant hit as well, along with it Fish is a chill track with somewhat funny lyrics that brings a smile to fans’ faces. The group leader took part in the writing and composing of the song.
Dreamin’
Dreamin’ (니꿈꿔) is the twelfth track on Flight Log: Turbulence, which is the second full-length album by GOT7. It was released on September 27, 2016, with Hard Carry as the album’s title track. I believe this album was the one that made a big impact on the public and made GOT7 a mainstream name. Although there are many other tracks like Skyway and Prove It, which is composed by him, this track feels more like Jay B’s personal style.
Shopping Mall
It is the second track on Flight Log: Arrival, the sixth mini album by GOT7. It was released on March 13, 2017, with Never Ever as the album’s title track. It is the last release of their Flight Log trilogy. Member Jackson really shined in this song which is co-written and composed by the leader.
Rainy
Jay B showed off his musical talents by producing this track on the show Hyena on the Keyboard (건반 위의 하이에나). It was a South Korean variety show whereby the process of song production by various producers/singer-songwriters was shown. He created this song for the show, which made the fans swoon even more for him and his skills.
Switch It Up
Switch It Up is the first digital single by JAY B which was released on May 14, 2021, and features Sokodomo. This is his first solo release since he left JYP Entertainment in January 2021 and joined H1GHR Music in May 2021. This song track displayed the singer’s growth over the years and now that he was going solo. The song was an instant hit and made fans excited about his future projects.
B.T.W
It is the title track of his first solo EP, SOMO: Fume (Style of my own: Fume). It was released on August 26, 2021, with B.T.W and Fame as the album’s title tracks. The song also features Jay Park and shows off a laid-back side of Jay B as well.
My Abandoned Love
This R&B track is the latest title track from the singer. He has released and produced music under the pseudonyms Def. and Defsoul earlier as well, which he first adopted as a stage name prior to his career as an idol. This solemn song displays a new side of his musicality as he is gearing up to experiment more with the style of music he would like to pursue.
