Returning to end the horrifying haunting of a ghost who isn’t ready to go, Netflix brings the second part of the Thai horror film we have been waiting for. This Death Whisperer 2 review brings you a look into the second instalment of the film, the way the plot comes to its conclusion and the performance that came along. The Thai film concludes the story of the ghost and the family she is hell-bent on destroying; however, it can be a letdown for horror fans looking for a good scare.

Death Whisperer 2 Review
The plot of the film follows Yak’s journey as he seeks revenge on the Black Spirit who killed his sister. As his relentless search for the ghost comes to an end, will he be able to end her once and for all? Or will he succumb in front of her power and face the destruction of his family once again?
Continuing the story, this film certainly starts off with eye-catching scenes from a distant past of the Black Spirit going around doing her damage to people; we return to the present, where Yak is hell-bent on getting his revenge. I have to say, the exorcism and action scenes are packed with a lot of gore, which shows that the film has levelled up. However, with the reduced reliance on jump scares, we are in for a more thrilling ride as the plot brings the scares to the safest places as deemed by the family.
The visuals of the film are stunning, with most of the scenes taking place in a dense forest or through the maze of corridors where the family runs for their lives. The creeps that these scenes deliver are not to be underestimated, and while the adrenaline does come up for some time, it soon falls when the scare is not scary enough. Yes, the plot is definitely thrilling but it doesn’t scare you like you would have expected.
Then there are those scenes in the dark of the night in the forest which are just not clear enough to follow as smoothly as we would have liked. A little more investment in these parts would have made for a better experience for the viewers, as these scenes were definitely filled with an intensity that could’ve been the highlight.
Moving on, I have to talk about the performance of the actors who have once again done a good job. The fright on their face, the anger, and finally, the emotions on Yak’s face are something that are well captured by the actors. The madness they bring in the right moments is something worth the watch and something that I’ve especially enjoyed.
However, once again, I have to say that this is not the kind of horror film I would tune into if I want the bone-chilling feeling of a good horror film.
Summing Up
Death Whisperer 2 brings the right amount of action and thrill but fails when it comes to the horror element of the film. With fewer jump scares, the film focuses more on the plot that is coming to an end for this family, either with their end or the end of the Black Spirit. Altogether, it is a good enough watch but a letdown for fans looking for a bone-chilling experience.
Watch Death Whisperer 2 on Netflix.
