Carnival Row Season 2 Episode 7 and 8 dive deep into the repercussions of the Fae revolt, which makes things even more difficult for the mythical community. The latest instalments have an average runtime of 50+ minutes and are based on the novel by Travis Beacham.
The fantasy drama show is created by René Echevarria, and Travis Beacham while the storyline of the series revolves around the fight between the Fae and the humans. Moreover, the complete cast features Simon McBurney, Tamzin Merchant, David Gyasi, Andrew Gower, Karla Crome, Arty Froushan, Indira Varma, and Jared Harris.

-The Carnival Row Season 2 Episode 7-8 Review Does Not Contain Spoilers-
Carnival Row Season 2 Episode 7 takes the series to an even darker and more graphic level. The latest instalment also explores the aftermath of Vignette’s rescue and how it has affected her and the other fae.
Rycroft’s imprisonment and torture scenes in the episode are hard to watch but are necessary to depict the dilemma of the gloomy detective. Moreover, that claustrophobic effect of the episode is almost unbearable, as we are left wondering how Rycroft will escape to normalcy, and whether he will be able to save Vignette and the others.
The brave fae is determined to fight back against the establishment and plans more attacks, which creates a sense of urgency and purpose for the fae community. The focus on the fae rebellion is a highlight of the episode, as it shows the strength and resilience of the mythical community, against the face of oppression.
On the other hand, the subplot of Imogen and Agreus’s relationship feels somewhat sluggish and repetitive. While their storyline is an interesting exploration of love and differentiation, it takes away from the main plot and feels disconnected from the fae rebellion and Rycroft’s struggles. It can be seen as a nice break from the intensity of the episode, but it may not be as engaging for the audience, who are more invested in the fantasy and political aspects of the show.

Carnival Row Season 2 Episode 8 is a satisfying instalment of the series that ends up in an epic and bloody showdown. The climactic battle scenes are visually stunning, and the special effects are impressive, especially during the most graphic scenes.
However, the episode’s pacing feels a bit rushed, and some plot points are resolved too quickly. It seems like the showrunners had to wrap up the storylines quickly in order to leave enough time for the action sequences. This makes some of the character arcs feel incomplete and leaves some questions unanswered. Something which they will hopefully correct in the season finale.
Carnival Row Season 2 Episode 7-8 Final Thoughts

The series has been a fascinating and engaging blend of fantasy and political intrigue, and the show’s attention to detail and world-building has created a rich and immersive world. While there are some pacing issues and some of the subplots could have been more fully developed, the series is still a must-watch for fans of fantasy and drama.
