Many would want it to be an April fool’s day prank but BTS’ J-hope Military Enlistment update by Big Hit Music is definitely not one. On 1st April 2023, the K-pop singer’s agency announced that J-hope would be fulfilling his required time with the military by enlisting in the army as an active-duty soldier.
It will make him the second member of the group BTS to enlist after Jin joined the military on 13th December 2022. Many updates have been given about Jin’s activities and even promotion to a higher rank in the last few months, along with monthly messages by the Moon singer released by Big Hit.
J-hope has been one of the most active members who have been constantly putting out music before the military. Recently his international collaboration with rapper J. Cole, On the Street was released just last month, which again became a massive hit and also brought many artists together on the same screen for the song challenge.

In the announcement notice, Big Hit also noted that there will be no official event on the day of his entry, which is expected around mid-April. The entrance ceremony is a private and emotional situation for many men who bid goodbye to their families to enlist for the upcoming months. Looking at the group’s popularity it might become a chaotic crowded event and thus advises ARMYs from visiting the site.
They further mentioned the illegal sale and purchase of the artist’s intellectual property & will be taking necessary action against it. Ending the notice with the line that says, “We ask for your continued love and support for j-hope until he completes his military service and returns. Our company will also strive to provide all the support he needs during this time.”

Figuring out that the fans must be a bit surprised by the news, J-hope took up to Weverse and posted a selfie with the caption that translates to “Have a great weekend. Don’t worry too much! I love you, ARMY!” If the announcement wasn’t enough then his personal post definitely made fans emotional and he soon started trending on social media sites, as fans express their feelings.
Recently, another BTS member, Jimin, released his first solo album Face and the previous roommates have been much supportive of each other by doing their song challenges together & even J-hope visited him at his music show performances.
ARMYs on Twitter have been sharing supporting as well as emotional messages for Hope, while some are expressing their feeling in the best way possible, through memes. Even the currently enlisted member Jin commented on the Weverse post which ensued in a funny conversation between the two.
