Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has been in the works for over a decade. The spell cast by the first installment of the Astraverse franchise has already taken over the public on the first day of its release itself. Brimming with several stellar cameos, and a laudable VFX, the film is bound to switch gears for the tanking Bollywood Box Office curse.
The high-budget project was already resounding an alarm due to the star cast that had lined up for this venture. While Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt lead the bunch, a long list of golden short cameos weighs in and packs in extra muscle. Shah Rukh Khan’s presence is probably the most talked-about cameos of all. His name is trending alongside the movie’s title on Twitter.

Interestingly enough, the Brahmastra reactions collected from Twitter all follow a linear pattern and barely go into how its story is shaped into being. All the uproar at the moment praises the larger-than-life grandiosity of the film. The average Indian audience is also seen positioning the Ranbir Kapoor starrer blockbuster at par with Baahubali.
Brahmastra reactions have likened it to a “visual treat” and claim that it has set the Hindi film industry at an elevated pedestal altogether. Some fans however are hoping to see the potential of the protagonists actualized in the sequel. They felt that the arc around Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt could’ve been shaped in a better way.
Starry cameos of ‘OG’ Bollywood megastars, SRK being just one of them, have in a way overpowered the actual movie plot. It leaves us with the question if the narrative itself is strong enough to hold the Astraverse concept together or if merely the cast and the glamorous tokens used along the way are responsible for its showstopping bang at the box office.
Keeping all those analytical views aside, this movie has achieved to unite the Indian public at the theatres once again to some extent after a really long time. Hopefully, the charm will hold firm till the end and this novel concept will elevate the standards of Bollywood and raise the stakes for Indian film-making.
