Bleach TYBW Part 3 Episode 11 Recap

Today’s episode was absolutely mind-blowing, so let’s dive into everything that unfolded. In earlier episodes, Barro’s apparent defeat might have felt abrupt and underwhelming, but this was because his battle wasn’t truly over. In this episode, Barro undergoes a terrifying transformation, evolving into a grotesque form determined to annihilate not just Shunsui but everyone around him. It becomes clear that Barro’s power far surpasses Shunsui’s, leaving him gravely injured and on the brink of death.

We also gain deeper insight into Shunsui’s backstory, particularly his connection to his lieutenant, Nanao. It turns out that Shunsui is actually Nanao’s uncle, having shared a close bond with his late brother and sister-in-law. After his brother’s tragic death, Nanao’s mother blamed herself and entrusted Shunsui with an item of immense significance, hoping to prevent further misfortune. This burden is a major reason why Nanao grew up unaware of her uncle’s identity and without a Zanpakuto of her own.
Bleach TYBW Part 3 Episode 12 Review And Recap

Today’s episode is definitely one of the most emotional but also captivating of this season. The episode begins with a flashback, where we get the background information about two very important Quincy characters, Bazz B and Jugram. Here, we see them as kids who met in a forest while hunting. One thing gets established right off the bat, Jugram does not have enough power to form a Heilig Bogen, the primary weapon used by all Quincies.
Bazz B, who is skilled at Heilig Bogen, almost forcefully takes Jugram under his wing and even promises to protect him. An unlikely friendship develops between them, but everything changes when Bazz B’s territory gets absolutely massacred by Yhwach. Bazz B thus comes to the conclusion that he must take revenge for what Yhwach has done and even invites Jugram on his journey, as he, too, is alone in the world.

The friendship between Bazz B and Jugram is definitely one of the best, considering we only got glimpses of it in the past episodes and fully understood their bond in this episode. Their personalities are completely different from each other, hence, the way they perceive the world around them is also vastly different. Even though they both walked towards the same goal, many things changed them, and, in turn, they became enemies.

Now, we see these two fight their last battle, where it is apparent only one will come out as the winner. However, it felt as if Bazz B was the only one who actively wanted to fight. It is almost as if Jugram did not see any merit in their altercation or Bazz B’s idea of revenge on Yhwach. Jugram is too loyal to his majesty for his own good, and Bazz B feels betrayed that his friend turned on him. This also gave birth to his obsession to fight against Jugram and prove Bazz B got strong on his own merits.
Verdict

Today’s episode had one of the best animations, even though we were not graced with detailed fight sequences. The panels look so good, and the colour schemes are so crisp that you really want to compliment the animators’ hard work. The ending of this episode definitely was emotional and makes us think how even the antagonists feel, and they, too, are going through losses in this battle.
