Bleach TYBW Part 3 Episode 10 Recap

The story shifts back to the intense battle between Mayuri and Pernida. Earlier, Ashisogi Jizō attempted to consume Pernida, but the plan failed disastrously, resulting in the destruction of Mayuri’s Bankai. As the fight progresses, we see drastic changes in the left arm of the Soul King.
Pernida evolves at an astonishing pace, not only expanding its vocabulary but also refining its attacks. One of its nerve-imbued arrows comes dangerously close to hitting Mayuri, only for Nemu to intervene at the last moment, appearing unexpectedly to save him.

This moment stands out because Mayuri, known for his ego, only values assistance when he explicitly asks for it. True to his nature, instead of appreciating Nemu’s initiative, he reprimands her harshly. He warns her against acting on her own, reminding her that even her life is his to command and that she can only die when he permits it.
The episode also delves into Nemu’s backstory, giving us a glimpse of her earliest memories of Mayuri, her creator. It is revealed that before her, six earlier versions of artificial beings were developed, all of whom failed to survive for long. Nemu, however, was the first to grow from a fetus to an adult, resembling the natural development of a human. Despite never being taught about emotions or affection, Nemu developed a deep sense of loyalty and care toward Mayuri, seeing him as a father figure.
Bleach TYBW Part 3 Episode 11 Review And Recap

Today’s episode went absolutely crazy with everything, so let us talk about it. In the previous episodes, if the defeat of Barro felt easy and rushed, then it was because he was not defeated at all. Here, we see how Barro further evolves into a grotesque creature and completely prepares to obliterate not only Shunsui but also anyone in the vicinity. It is apparent that Barro is way stronger than Shunsui, and he has also mortally injured him.
We also get a clear understanding of Shunsui’s past, which involves his lieutenant, Nanao. Apparently, Shunsui is her uncle, who had a close relationship with his brother and his wife. After his brother died, Nanao’s mother blamed it on herself and gave something of utter importance to Shunsui so that this kind of tragedy never happened again. It is also a reason why Nanao had to grow up without knowing anything about her uncle and without a Zanpakuto.

This episode clearly focuses on Nanao and her ability that we have never seen before. All these years, she thought that her talent lies only with Kido spells and not with a sword. But here, we see that that’s not true, and she indeed has her own powers that make her almost a God Slayer. In such a circumstance, she is the only one who can go toe to toe with Barro, the messenger of God.
Verdict

Today’s episode was nostalgic, tragic and also absolutely brilliant. Not only do we get a revelation of a huge secret, but we also see some great developments. The animation was both gorgeous and clean, and the music was absolutely fitting with epical tones and themes. This episode is definitely one of the best of this season, and it really leaves you on a high note.
