Bitch x Rich Season 2 Episode 1 Recap

The episode opens with a girl pleading with someone named Oh Si-eun to delete the video. When she refuses, the girl jumps from the building, presumably committing suicide, and there stands Hye-jin to witness it all. However, the twist is that the person with the cards, the one holding the video, is the one who has died. It’s a recap of what happened in the last season, and now, Hye-jin is being questioned by the police for being the last person to talk to Si-eun and the person who found her body as well.

The police ask her whether she pushed Si-eun because she was being threatened, and don’t seem to be buying her story. In turn, he asks her why she was being threatened. The school, however, wants to wrap this up quickly, while Hye-jin’s father is worried about affording a lawyer but having to do it anyway because his daughter’s future is on the line.

The next day at school, Hye-jin gets mercilessly bullied and eventually fights back, making a run for it on a mysterious new student’s motorcycle. She eventually learns his name, Lee Sa-rang, So-mang’s younger brother. From him, we learn that So-mang was kicked out and is probably studying abroad. Elsewhere, Je-na learns that her parents are getting a divorce, and it causes her quite a good amount of anguish.

She rushes out of his office and to meet her mother and, interestingly enough, gets help from Hye-jin, whom she runs into in the street. They rush to meet her, and thankfully, she is fine, but Hye-jin is eventually left alone to go home after Je-na’s father picks her up. The next day, she’s called for a disciplinary committee meeting and, in a rather cold war, reveals that she knows Yul-hee was the one who pushed Si-eun off the terrace.

And if things can’t get any more complicated, Hye-jin’s dad is begging for forgiveness from Bo-seok’s mother, sitting on the floor, leaving her absolutely mortified. She pushes back at first, but her teacher tells her to ask for forgiveness because otherwise she will never get a job. Reluctantly, she doesn’t have any option but to comply.

Ah, the first episode is here, and it’s a slow start. We bridge the gap between the two seasons, now that it’s been around 2 years since season 1, and learn where everyone is and meet the new characters. The episode was fine, extremely uncomfortable, but things haven’t started to go haywire yet. We have to wait and watch how long we can keep this up before it’s too late for Cheongdam International High School!
