Behind Every Star episode 12 starts with Jane looking after actress Kim A-joong, the host of the Busan International Film Festival. Unfortunately, though, in spite of asking her not to move around, she bends down to pick up her phone, tearing the back of her dress in the process.
At Method, Eun-soo gets picked to go to Busan for the film festival, leaving Jin-hyeok moping around. Meanwhile, Hyun-joo is working at her mother’s salon and seems like is hating every minute of it. When Tae-oh tries to contact his daughter through her mother, the latter doesn’t allow him to do so, asking him to leave them alone.
Jane, on the other hand, is getting flak at work for the dress to get ruined. It’s not possible for them to switch out the dress, and the designer is not letting them do anything to it either. Hae-jun reminds her to get this sorted with the correct dress, otherwise, there will be consequences for her as well as the company. Irritated, Jane promises to solve the issue in any way possible.
After a hectic day at the office, Jane and A-joong travel to Busan and are surprised to find the dress mended and ready to be worn at the ceremony. Back at the office, Hae-jun hangs around in Jane’s office and finds a ring box with two rings inside. He immediately gets the wrong idea and thinks put the worst.
At Busan, Jane gets bullied into bringing Shin Ju-gyeong to her birthday party that evening when she tries to get out of making social commitments. A-joong doesn’t like Ju-gyeong since, according to her, she’s a bully, and Jane gets a taste of that first-hand. Back at the office, after everyone leaves, Eun-ha gets Tae-oh’s schedule from Eun-soo, and the latter even changes her ticket so that Eun-ha can fly in place of her in a rather heartbreaking scene.
Meanwhile, Jane tries to convince A-joong to go to the party. Although the actress refuses at first and mentions that she doesn’t need too much to be happy, she agrees when she sees her agent’s desperation. But, when Hae-jun makes a surprise entry and tells Jane that he is essentially using the actress to broker a deal between C&G and the designer, she is left to wonder whether the end truly does justify the means.
She later realises that making A-joong go for this event would be against everything that she stands for and asks her client not to go to the event. Touched by her thoughtfulness, A-joong takes her agent to have a drink at the hotel bar. Meanwhile, Jin-hyeok gives up his last chance to go to Busan to console a sobbing Eun-soo.
The next morning, Tae-oh is left shocked at Eun-ha’s surprise arrival, and she proposes that they start their relationship over. She also asks him to stop ignoring Hyun-joo since she got in trouble for trying to help him. Meanwhile, Jane is left shocked and scrambling when C&G takes A-joong’s dress away.
When Jane calls Ju-gyeong, she tells her that A-joong needs to personally get the dress from her after apologising for last night. Without any other option, the actress goes over to Ju-gyeong’s hotel room in order to get the dress back. However, Ju-gyeong’s attitude pushes her over the edge, and she snaps back at her, showing her the middle finger at the end of her tirade.
However, the problem still remains and the team try to find a dress for the actress quickly. Unfortunately, all the avenues take them to a dead end so close to the opening ceremony. Just when A-joong is about to go to a department store to get a dress, Jane remembers Han Bo-reum and decides to go to his atelier in Busan to get a dress.
Jane, unfortunately, is unable to convince Bo-reum, until she meets Hyun-joo at the store, who is finally able to work her magic and get a dress. She drives like a madman down the road and gets Jane and the dress delivered on time.
Meanwhile, a smitten Jung-don finds himself in a bind when Oh Hun messages him to meet after the ceremony. As everyone sits down to watch the Film Festival, A-joong looks stunning hosting the festival, and everyone is left stunned at how elegant and beautiful she looks. As things work out for the best, Tae-oh invites Hyun-joo to the festival as well and makes an effort to drive down and get her, complete with a dress for her.
At the afterparty, Jane gets offered a lucrative position as she gears up to propose to Sang-uk, leaving her with a difficult situation. However, when she sees Hyun-joo, she asks her to go to the US with her, which Hae-jun overhears. Meanwhile, Jung-don gets into a world of problems of his own when Hee-sun learns of his betrayal.
Behind Every Star Episode 12 Ending
As he runs after her, only to learn that Hee-sun has left, Jane realises that her period is late and rushes to get a test. Meanwhile, Hae-jun tells Tae-oh that he is thinking of buying ST Agency, the same company Jane was thinking of going to. He asks Tae-oh whether he’d be willing to run Method’s LA branch, leaving him to ponder on the fact.
Meanwhile, a series of texts to Tae-oh shows Eun-ha a rather shocking truth. The next morning, Jung-don and Jane lament over their lives and Jane indirectly gives away that she is, in fact, pregnant. Meanwhile, Hyun-joo wonders about which direction the US is in.
The last scene shows the entire office celebrating Christmas together, looking all chummy and happy.
Behind Every Star Episode 12 Review
Is it weird that a 12-episode TV series is unable to answer any of its biggest questions and leaves its last episode on a cliffhanger? At this point, it is pretty safe to assume that the series will come back for another season, but even then, they literally just ignored some of the biggest plot points for another season that might or might not come out.
Now sitting here with a half-baked season, I don’t know what to feel about the show. Up until that rather odd choice of an ending, I was enjoying the episode as it showed a nice change of pace for Jane, and we were now confused about what she would choose for herself.
Jung-don received little to no attention in this episode, and right when his storyline picked up, we were rudely interrupted from knowing what would happen afterwards. Moreover, what are the texts Tae-oh ends up receiving? Is it a drunk Eun-soo blabbering about their little tryst? Is it something else? Did Tae-oh sleep with Jeong-hee?
I guess we simply won’t get the answers till the next season if there are any.

Shortened from 16 epi’s to 12, but carried on till 97% of ep 12 was finished, then abruptly finished it off with a “happy” Christmas party. Very unsatisfying ending. Supposedly they never intended for multiple seasons, and the missing last 4 epi’s were to conclude the unresolved issues. So I guess we can write our own endings. Otherwise, one of the best series currently running. Kudos to actors and production teams for the first great 11 episodes.
PS and Happy Holidays to you all!
