Behind Every Star episode 10 starts with the office losing their minds a bit when Daniel Henney makes an appearance in the office. However, the visit doesn’t come as a surprise – Hae-jun wants Henney to star in a new drama, but the managers aren’t on board with the idea since Henney isn’t someone who takes on projects just because. However, in classic Hae-jun style, he threatens to terminate his contract if they can’t secure him for the role.

Unfortunately, the director isn’t thrilled with the idea, even though Henney is. Jane is shocked to find out that Director Ye and Henney had met previously, but he was cold to her back then and refused the read the script, incidentally, of Stranger, the director’s first feature film. Jane is taken aback by the revelation and goes to Tae-oh to discuss what happened with her.

Later, Jane and Hae-jun’s little domestic tussle makes Jung-don comfort her, but when he gets to know that she kissed him, he is left shocked. However, she tries to downplay the matter but threatens to kill him if he tells anyone. Jung-don, on the other hand, finds Hee-sun’s private interactions with Oh Hun problematic but finds no way to stop them.

That night, Hyun-joo, while talking to Tae-oh, gets to know that her father had rejected Director Ye’s script all those years back, and Daniel doesn’t even know anything about it. Hyun-joo asks him to come clean with everyone, but he figures that if he tells the director, he wouldn’t want to work with the company anymore. Either way, he asks her to send him the director’s schedule and get this mess sorted, and Hyun-joo volunteers to help.

Regardless of who said what to whom, Director Ye refuses to accept Daniel’s apology, but Jane’s nudging pushes her in the right direction, and she agrees to meet the director. The news excites Hyun-joo, who immediately goes to warn Tae-oh from messing it up. Meanwhile, Tae-oh finds himself in a bind when Daniel asks him to take him to the radio station where the director is giving an interview.

In a race against time to stall Daniel, who seems desperate to meet the director, Hyun-joo rushes to the radio station and snatches her away just in time before Daniel can see her. However, the meeting does end up getting scheduled even though Hyun-joo tries her best to stop it. Tae-oh, too, is left stressed when Jane gives him the news. Hee-sun, meanwhile, learns that Oh Hun wants her to work with him as partner, making Jung-don rather uncomfortable.

Later on, Hae-jun and Jane have an equally uncomfortable and hilarious discussion about kissing in the midst of taking interviews. Meanwhile, Jung-don discusses the Hee-sun paradox with Jane, who tells him that his feelings on the matte,r in spite of knowing everything, point to something more than just concern for a client.

When Daniel and Min-su finally meet, though, she makes him play out a fantasy apology scene and then angrily asks him to apologise to her. When she mentions the script from 4 years ago, he is left utterly confused – because he clearly doesn’t know what is going on. When things start to get too hot for the two of them, with Daniel clearly feeling very confused, a desperate Hyun-joo takes the blame on herself and tells everyone that she is the one who deleted the email.

Min-su is left shocked and embarrassed, and Daniel refuses to work with the company further. With an emergency on their hands, Eun-soo forces Tae-oh to finally go to the office, while Jane almost beats Hyun-joo up for her negligence. As Tae-oh makes his way to the office, Hae-jun and the others decide on what to do with Hyun-joo.

After hearing everything, Tae-oh decides to take responsibility finally and discloses his relationship with Hyun-joo as well as the truth about the script 4 years ago. Left even more confused and rather shocked that he kept such a big thing from everyone, Jane and Jung-don are left speechless. Tae-oh volunteers to resign instead of Hyun-joo, leaving the fate of the company up in the air for the time being.

What a dramatic and thoroughly enjoyable episode this has been! Not only is Daniel Henney a sight for sore eyes, but his storyline with director Ye Min-su is also just so oddly dramatic and over the top – we love it. When you think about what happens in the background of these high-budget movies and shows, this is exactly what we, as the audience, expect to happen.

Other than that, the personal hardships that the recurring characters go through will make you root for your favourite characters – no one is white or black; everyone’s a shade of grey. Thus, when they do something good or bad, you wait to see whether they will make the right decision and celebrate their victories when they do.

Behind Every Star has slowly crept up on me. I think I have started to really care about these characters and their story arcs, which is something I would not have expected when I started the series off!
