Behind Every Star episode 1 starts with chaos – Kim Jung-don, Cho Yeo-jeong’s agent, trying to get her client Hollywood ready. That includes being able to ride a horse. Yeo-jeong tells him that she’s pretty good at it, but it seems like things are going to take a very shocking turn soon. And that comes not too soon after his client’s photo shoot, wherein he gets the news that Tarantino has refused to work with her.

Feeling heartbroken, Jung-don comes back to Method Entertainment, wherein we meet Ma Tae-oh and Cheon Je-in, both of whom seem to be the very definition of productive! Soon, So Hyun-joo visits Method and quickly makes her way to Tae-oh, leaving the receptionist stunned.

Hyun-joo seems to be someone close to Tae-oh and makes him rather uncomfortable. She asks to be a manager at Method, but Tae-oh refuses to entertain her in any way. Hyun-joo promises to keep their relationship a secret, but Tae-oh isn’t in the mood to give in.

Back in the office, he joins a meeting with the others, and when Yeo-jeong’s news breaks, the entire room goes into a frenzy. Trying to come up with ways to break the news to the star who kept all of her other projects aside for this, Je-in’s assistant has a meltdown resulting in her storming out in a rather uncomfortable moment.

Meanwhile, outside, Hyun-joo clashes headfirst into Je-in’s drama and agrees to fill the role of her now-missing assistant. She gets a fast rundown of all things Method and starts to know what is expected of her from the others. Meanwhile, Jung-do talks to his boss about the colossal mess he is in before the latter goes on a holiday.

After constantly (and hilariously) picking up and disconnecting Yeo-jeong’s calls, Jung-do wonders what to do while Jin-hyeok gives newbie Hyun-joo a run of the place and shows her some cool stuff in the office as well as gives her some interesting gossip about the people she will be working with.

As if things couldn’t get more complicated for Jung-do, Yeo-jeong comes to the office to meet him. He successfully runs away from her so as not to give her the bad news, but the truth finally does come out when Hyun-joo blabbers to the actress, who is completely taken aback and shocked.

Later on, Tae-oh corners Hyun-joo for getting a job at the company the conversation is cut short when Eun-soo discovers them. Yeo-jeong and Jung-don are forced to come face-to-face when she spots him in a restaurant, and she eventually refuses to work with him when he continues to lie to her about why she can’t do the Tarantino film.

Things heat up between Je-in and Tae-oh as the latter gets his hands on a juicy script. However, before Hyun-joo can sneakily get her hands on the script titles, Jung-do comes to the office lamenting about his lost client and demanding to know who told Yeo-jeong the truth. As the drama goes down, Tae-oh asks Eun-soo to call Tarantino’s agents without anyone knowing.

That evening, Tae-oh talks to Amy and sneakily makes the arrangements for her to be back on the film and the next day, they completely cut Jung-don out of the picture. Unfortunately for Yeo-jeong, the filmmakers ask her to “mould” her body according to a 20-year-old, leaving her feeling rather morose at her increasing age. Tae-oh, however, has his way of making his clients agree to the clause.

Unfortunately for Method Entertainment, Tae-oh decides to leave the company with Yeo-jeong after the deal goes through, sending the office into another frenzy. Hyun-soo, too, loses her job thanks to telling Yeo-jeong the truth. As she is leaving, she remembers Je-in telling her to read the secret script, and in a last-ditch attempt, she gets her hands on the script.

Meanwhile, Jung-don makes a last-ditch attempt to make peace with Yeo-jeong and stop her from getting cosmetic surgeries. She, instead, asks him to come with her because she doesn’t want to go alone. In the end, however, she does end up not getting the procedure done, and the two of them spend a rather sweet evening together.
