1. The Future of Pandora

In Avatar (2009), we first witnessed the grand and magnificent world of Pandora, followed by its incessant human invasion. Jake Sully, the paraplegic who replaced his twin brother on the invasive mission, ultimately chose to side with the tribe of Na’vi, and fought against his own kind.

The forthcoming sequel takes place almost a decade after the incidents when the Na’vi tribe won the consequential war, and Jake decided to stay in his Avatar form. Moreover, we can conclude in the trailer that Jaky Sully has been living with his children and family ever since, with a different Na’vi clan residing close to the water.

The sequel will reveal the daunting future of Pandora and its habitants, along with a detailed look at the new clan, who have associated themselves with the Sully family.

2. Return of the Humans

Even though the Humans faced a humiliating defeat in the first part (and made us root for the Pandora Tribe), it looks like they haven’t learned their lesson at all. In the official trailer for the sequel, we can easily spot the hybrid robots, also known as the shield that walks, making an appearance.

This is a direct indication of a human invasion, that has returned to haunt Pandora and eliminate all the existing threats to the mobilized corporate army. However, since Jake has already dealt with ferocious attacks in the past, he will be a key element in saving his tribe and their planet.

Morever, it will also mark the introduction of new characters played by fresh faces of actors in the franchise.

Notably, Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet will also be featuring in the sequel, in the role of Ronal. Recently, she made headlines when she revealed that her character demanded several underwater takes, and required her to hold her breath for more than 7 minutes, which ultimately broke Tom Cruise’s record in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation. The list of actors further includes Jamie Flatters’s Neteyam, Britain Dalton’s Lo’ak and Trinity Bliss’s Tuktirey.
