Nice to Not Meet You Episode 5 Recap

Se-na comes to Hyun-jun and says that she will only get half of what he is getting paid, and this should make him happy. With this, she lets him know that she will be joining the cast of the detective series he is part of. This news obviously pisses Hyun-jun off because he had no idea she was planning such a thing. He even goes to the production committee of the drama and tries to opt out of the series, but Se-na creates a scene claiming she likes Hyun-jun. She also makes a show of expressing her regret about breaking up with him in a bad way and how she wants to mend her relationship with him now.

Hyun-jun confronts Se-na directly about her intentions of wanting to work with him. She shamelessly claims that if he drops this series and goes back to the film, she will do the same and follow him everywhere. When he asks her what she’s up to, she again claims that she has feelings for him and wants to make up. She tells him to forget everything and start anew because she hates apologising for past mistakes.

On the other hand, Jae-hyung is trying his best to flirt with Jeong-sin. He even invites her to cover a pitch together with him and further explains that he wants to be the kind of person she thinks him to be, which is a good guy no matter what.

Elsewhere, Hyun-jun finally agrees to work with Se-na, but he presents some of his conditions. He will not accept any romantic scenes with her, nor any physical intimacy with her. She will also not get more than five scenes per episode, along with other things. Later, both Jeong-sin and Hyun-jun meet at the baseball game. However, here Hyun-jun gets to become jealous after he sees just how close Jae-hyung and Jeong-sin are.

We also see Jeong-sin dig deeper into the Se-na controversy and manage to discover who it was she was dating. She also finds out that the man’s younger brother is Jae-hyung, who had been trying to woo her for a long time. On the other hand, we see Dae-ho go to Se-na and tell her that they can never break up. But that is not all, Hyun-jun goes through another panic attack after someone mentions his mother. When he goes to the therapist, he theorises that maybe getting love will cure his condition.

This is also why he goes to multiple blind dates who definitely do not like him for who he is and just accompany him because he is famous. Later, he finally gets a chance to meet Jeong-sin and even asks her to have dinner with him. They go to the riverbank and have Ramen while Jeong-sin works on her interview. He lets her know that Se-na will be joining his cast, and that affects her considerably. Here, they both share some romantic moments even though they do not talk to each other at first. Though towards the end, Hyun-jun finally apologises for assuming her being a Hostess, they soon start fighting again.

Nice to Not Meet You Episode 5 Review

Today’s episode was pretty nice, and the comedy actually worked most of the time. I also like the slow-burning romance between the two leads as they do a good job of selling their bond.
