Typhoon Family Episode 12 Recap

This episode begins with the declaration of Tae-poong that he will continue his one-sided love for Mi-seon. But we also see Nam-mo’s mother coming in to confront him without him doing anything, clearly taking her frustration out on her own son. She also discourages him from dating Mi-ho because she thinks she is too sly for her son. Apart from that, we see just how peacefully Jeong-mi has become a part of Mi-seon’s family. She now looks after their brother and also feeds her grandmother without any qualms. Other than that, Tae-poong continues his hopeless but consistent flirting with Mi-seon.

At the office, Tae-poong faces another problem because there’s only one company that makes the surgical gloves that the Typhoon Company wants. This kind of monopoly makes everything too difficult for Tae-poong and his company, which is why he gets advised to drop this deal. They finally decide that rather than going to the factory in America, they will go directly to Malaysia, where the raw material is being made.

But who will go to Malaysia, and it is decided that Song-jung will go, while Tae-poong will look after the bidding. Other than that, we also see Mi-ho going for a parental duty at her brother’s school. But Nam-mo’s mother still disagrees about her, which is sad, considering Mi-ho is such a genuine girl. At the bidding segment, the Typhoon Company tried their best to waste as much time as possible before they got any information from Song-jung. Thankfully, just before time gets over, Tae-poong gets the telegram from Song-jung, which helps him write the exact amount he wanted for the bid.

Needless to say, Typhoon Company wins the bid war. They managed to do it because Song-jung got a deal at a 40% discount. Later, we see Nam-mo’s mother confronting Mi-ho and telling her not to date her son because she is poor. According to her, because they are both poor, they should not end up with each other, as they can only drag each other down. Mi-ho started to cry after hearing this, and Nam-mo was also not happy with this situation. He confronts his mother and asks why he said all those mean things to his girlfriend when they are more impoverished and poverty-stricken than she is.

Another thing that we get to see is the downfall of Hyeon-jun, who literally gets beaten by his father for causing a huge loss. He then seeks out Seon-taek and gets to know about the promissory note.  Later, at the glove factory, both Tae-poong and Mi-seon stay there to make sure their products are fine. Just then, Tae-poong steps out for a bit to bring some food, and someone sets fire to the factory while Mi-seon is still inside and locks the doors from outside. This was clearly an intentional crime, and only in the next episode will we see the consequences of it.

I loved this episode, but would like to see the company make some progress instead of just facing losses. The characters do deserve at least some happiness.
