Bartender Glass Of God Episode 1 Review: The first episode of this new anime is finally here. It was certainly entertaining and showed us a world that we have not seen before in detail. Let us look at how episode 1 fared.
Bartender Glass Of God Episode 1 Overview
Bartender: Kami no Glass (バーテンダー 神のグラス) finally brings to life the beloved Japanese manga Bartender, written by the talented Araki Jou and illustrated by the skilled Kenji Nagatomo, in the form of a new anime series.

This anime is directed by Kuraya Ryouichi, who is well-known for his previous works such as Grand Blue, Ore Monogatari!!, The Irregular at Magic High School, and more. Aketagawa Jin is the Sound Director, who has also worked on projects like No Game No Life, Dr Stone, and Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, among others.
Takaya Kawasaki lends her voice to the opening theme song, Stardust Memory, while Mone Kamishiraishi (上白石萌音) perform the ending theme song titled Spica (スピカ). The series has been officially licensed by Crunchyroll, and the series started on TV in Tokyo on April 4, 2024.
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Bartender Glass Of God Episode 1 Review and Recap – Finding The Right Bartender
This anime really put me in a spot because I have very limited knowledge about cocktails or alcohol, in general. And if you are like me, perhaps it is good for us to finally know about a profession that we barely know of, through anime.
This episode begins with a monologue where we are told how there are two types of professions in the world that should not deceive their customers. One is a physicist or pharmacist, and another one is a bartender. Now, why is this the answer, is something that you have to find out after you watch this episode.
From this point on, we move towards 2 ladies, who are having a pretty hard time at their jobs. They work for Hotel Cardinal, a high-end hotel in Tokyo, and they are desperately looking for a bartender who can finally go through their extremely difficult selection process. And it is not their fault, that the selection process is such a chore, it is because the chairman of the hotel is looking for a very special type of drink that is not described properly.
He wants someone who can make the glass of God. What it is, what kind of alcohol goes into it, nothing is disclosed to anyone. Hence, whoever is coming for the interview gets openly rejected as either they are not that good, or they do not observe their customers enough.
So, in such a dire situation, how can these two ladies who wish to do something for their company, find the perfect bartender with a keen sense, ample experience, and can make this bizarre concoction, which is the glass of God?
It was at this moment that an oddball of a man crossed their path who might bring some changes in their unsuccessful streak of interviews.
Considering the fact that this anime was created by a fairly new animation studio Liber, which has only worked on the rom-com anime The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague, I must say the animation of this episode was pretty clean. The opening and ending themes were also nice, and the overall feel of the show gives you a slice-of-life vibe.
Verdict
I liked this enough to continue watching this show. The pacing of the episode is also decent, and it is pleasant enough for anyone to start watching it.
Now, whether this will be a show which, by the end of this season, comes out as an absolute masterpiece or not is something that we will have to wait and watch because not enough episodes are out. I do have high expectations from this for sure, and hopefully, we will be able to witness an interesting and fresh anime.
