Mukhbir The Story of a Spy Ending Explained

From what we know after watching the series, Harfan forms a leveraging kind of relationship with Begum Anar and uses her to record integral information. However, the Indian spy fails to retrieve the recording instrument and decides to break into the bungalow, during the night.

Later on, Harfan successfully finds the equipment and makes way for his escape. In the process, he gets confronted by Begum Anar who identifies his true intentions. Furthermore, the Indian spy makes a sudden call, and pushes the ghazal singer from the first floor, to safeguard his national interest.

Even though the spy is successful with the retrieval, the turmoil of killing Begum Anar leaves him emotionally wounded. The plan becomes more complicated when Harfan gets called for another cross-border smuggling and has no time, to inform his superiors back in India.

Meanwhile, Alamgir decides to remove all evidence of Harfan’s involvement in the murder and gets captured by the ISI head. On the border front, the spy uses his trickery to escape from the smuggling unit and finds a safe house. The spy is finally confronted by an Indian soldier, who immediately makes an arrest.

When Harfan informs him about his true identity, the soldier calls the superior in charge for confirmation. SKS Moorthy receives the call and denies even recognising the spy, as part of the compulsory protocol. After this, the spy gets chased by an enemy assassin, who kills the Indian soldier in an ambush.

When Moorthy makes his way to Kashmir, he finds Harfan along with the assassin and gets shot in the stomach. The spy makes a final daring escape before confronting the assassin once again. However, this time, an injured Moorthy shoots him in the head and closes the chapter.

The story moves into the control room, where the Indian Prime Minister acknowledges the sour intentions of the enemies, and decides to wage a full-fledged war. India ends up on the winning side, and Harfan becomes a farmer, in Alamgir’s native village. In the end, Moorthy convinces Harfan to embark on another mission, and continue protecting the nation from the brink of another gruesome war.
