Zenshu Episode 7 Recap

Natsuko has always been an oddity, standing out from an early age. We first see her through the eyes of her childhood friend, Midori, who witnessed firsthand Natsuko’s deep fascination with the anime A Tale of Perishing and her unwavering obsession with its characters. While others found her eccentric, Midori admired her passion. However, their time together was cut short when Midori had to move away. Before parting, Natsuko gave her a special gift. That day, Midori fell in love, much like someone else would later on.

In middle school, Natsuko’s quirks became even more pronounced. She had an unusual habit of asking people to perform random tasks so she could sketch them. This was a behaviour that led most of her peers to keep their distance. Yet, one boy frequently stole glances at her from afar. Unfortunately, his budding feelings never had a chance to flourish. Natsuko only wanted to capture him in motion for her drawings, nothing else.

By high school, Natsuko’s influence had unknowingly sparked admiration in yet another person. This time, the attraction wasn’t just emotional but also rooted in admiration for her talent. Seeing her as both an inspiration and a rival, he closely followed her progress. With each of her achievements, his respect for her only deepened.

The last to fall under Natsuko’s spell is her employer, Naomi, though for a more practical reason. Natsuko is the driving force behind their financial success. But amidst all of this, one question remains. Did Natsuko herself ever experience a first love?

This was one of the best episodes from Zenshu yet, as it managed to become one of the finest and surprisingly believable romance anime. When it first started, it definitely was not leaning towards romance, but now the relationship dynamic has grown very nicely. This episode begins with a very weird-looking bird that later turns out to be the director that Natsuko likes so much. She’s the one who created this fantasy world, and she is not happy that Natsuko is changing everything.

She also informs Natsuko that Luke’s bad ending is inevitable as there is nothing that can stop him from being devastated. But Natsuko gets confused because now that Luke is not in love with Destiny anymore, who can break him like that? What she doesn’t realize is that Luke is now in love with her, and if anything happens to her, he can very much go crazy.

Luke also finally decides that he will confess his feelings, and he does that a bit too much. He constantly tells Natsuko he loves her without stopping for a moment, and Natsuko, who has obviously never fallen in love with anyone, becomes confused and starts to avoid him. Later, Luke takes Natsuko on a very romantic date, and the rest is history.

Today’s episode started off as prophetic because it is apparent something bad might happen to Luke or Natsuko. This moment can be Natsuko’s and also the plot’s turning point.

Or it can also happen that Natsuko would return to her world, leaving Luke shattered.

Whatever might be the case, I would definitely wish they remained together as their relationship is very cute. Luke had ample amount of time to develop his feelings, making his attachment to her realistic.

However, their relationship is pretty much doomed from the beginning, and there is a chance we will get a tragic ending.
