Yakuza Fiancé Episode 9 Recap

Yakuza Fiancé Episode 10 Review

The atmosphere is charged with tension as Kirishima finds himself relentlessly pursued by his enemies. Yet, instead of succumbing to fear, he turns the tables, toying with their minds. He carefully feeds them fragments of information, staying one step ahead at every turn. Operating solo, Kirishima relies on cunning tactics to outmanoeuvre his foes, ultimately luring them into a public area to gain the upper hand.

Meanwhile, Yoshino stumbles upon a startling revelation about Ozu’s alliance with Shiori’s gang. It turns out the mastermind behind this collaboration is Azami, a shadowy and formidable figure. Despite not being a member of the yakuza, Azami’s capabilities are terrifying—he has the power to annihilate entire gangs without leaving a trace. Even Ozu remains in the dark about Azami’s true nature and methods.

What could have been a straightforward escape for Yoshino takes a dangerous turn when she becomes entangled in the chaos. With no one to come to her aid, she is forced to confront one of the gang leaders herself. This intense sequence showcases her resilience and resourcefulness, proving she is far from the archetypal damsel in distress waiting to be saved.

In this episode, we get more clarity regarding the whole incident that involves Ozu, Nao and the new mysterious man, Suo. Both Yoshino and Kirishima expose Ozu’s habit of utilising women as objects and manipulating them to do heinous deeds. He also blackmailed Nao so that he could use her against Kirishima. All his plans would have been perfect as he did not leave any proof of his wrongdoings behind, but sadly, that is not the case this time. Kirishima skilfully planned his downfall by making a man seduce Ozu’s mother, a public figure. This coupled with other factors, put a stamp on the fact that Ozu will not bother Yoshino or anyone else anymore.

Here, we also witness just how intelligent and sharp Yoshino is, even though she does not share an interest in becoming a part of the Yakuza. Not only did she manage to tail Kirishima on her own, but she also found details that even Kirishima could not. She also skilfully tempted Ozu to waste time with her and, in turn, made his whole plan crumble from that point. Even Kirishima is awed by her brilliance and recognises her abilities.

However, problems are arising as something far more sinister is going to happen in the future, and this is just the beginning. Soon, there can be a turf war among the Yakuzas, and there’s a high chance Yoshino and Kirishima will be dragged into it. Shoma is seen as particularly disturbed about this matter, and he might try to protect Yoshino from this upcoming issue.

In this episode, we also understand the relationship between Kirishima and Nao, and it becomes clear that Kirishima has been using her to keep Yoshino from any harm. He even claims that he can sleep with anyone, even an unknown woman, for the sake of Yoshino, insinuating Nao holds no meaning to him. But if his obsession and abnormal love are not clear from this interaction, it will be when Yoshino asks him to clearly state what goes on in his mind regarding her. He very innocently says his intrusive thoughts about Yoshino, and she quickly regrets asking him.

Verdict

Yakuza Fiancé Episode 10 Review

Today’s episode was entertaining as we finally got a closure on this whole mess. Apart from that, the relationship between our characters also gets a new meaning as now Kirishima might be the official boyfriend of Yoshino.  I would have preferred a bit more happening here, but I’m still happy with the episode anyway.
