Whale Store XOXO Episode 2 Recap
The episode opens with Wan comforting Maewnam after the latter breaks down under the pressure of her work and everyone’s expectations. They get to know each other further and have a sweet conversation, feeling them getting closer to one another. The next day, Wan learns about Maewnam’s second job while she gets the hang of her new job. However, she is shocked to learn that her father sometimes didn’t take money from his vendors, which has left him in a huge debt.
As the neighbours harass her for random things that are not her fault, she gets exhausted with the demands and the lack of funds. She rants about her predicament to her friend, which another neighbour overhears. As a result, news reaches Maewnam, and when she visits her friend, there’s not a soul to be found in the store. Maewnam tells her why she’s having such tough luck with customers, and Wan is beside herself with embarrassment. However, Maewnam promises to help Wan out of this pickle.
Wan eventually apologises to everyone, and it feels extremely genuine. Although they don’t forgive her right away, things do look up for her when the neighbours help her out with the shop in their own ways. Before long, the customers come back to the store as well. Wan thanks Maewnam for her help, and shares her fears about a chain grocery store opening near them. However, the real shock comes when Maewnam shares that she’s not a student but a university professor, which leaves Wan slack-jawed!
Wan’s friend Noey comes over later, and when she talks highly about Maewnam, Noey teases her about her crush on the latter. She brushes it off at first, but later realises that it might just be true. Maewnam, too, seems to be feeling the butterflies since she shares her feelings with Tonnam as well. Meanwhile, we learn that Maewnam’s parents own Mouse Mart!

That night, Maewnam pays Wan a visit and reminds her of the time the latter held an umbrella for her when they were in school. It’s a warm moment between the two, which solidifies their bond.
Whale Store XOXO Episode 2 Review
Whale Store XOXO Episode 2 continues on a rather sweet tangent, solidifying Wan’s residence and her job while also creating a beautiful relationship with her new friend. I like the chemistry between Milk Pansa Vosbein and Love Pattranite Limpatiyakorn – both of them look so in love, but also very calm around one another. Some moments in the series feel uninteresting and, frankly, very unnecessary, but Maewnam and Wan’s relationship keeps the boat sailing.
