Typhoon Family Episode 6 Recap

After saving Park from the thugs, Tae-poong goes to his house to drop him off. There, they see his daughter, who is also deaf, waiting for him with bated breath. As it was Christmas time, they all surprised her with a cake and a gift, and that is how the episode begins on an emotional note. But after spending such a hectic day, Tae-poong calls Mi-seon and asks a simple question, “Is there no sentiment in this work?” and she replies that even though stars are not visible all the time, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist, which is also why sentiments do exist, but they are not visible all the time.

Later, we see the new year celebration happen, and right after, Tae-poong also buys 7000 pairs of shoes, which Mi-seon believes are impossible to sell. She also does not agree with this kind of business idea, and confronts him later because the original order was supposed to be 500. Somewhere else, we see how Tae-poong’s mother tailors to earn money, and though she’s not very good at it, she still perseveres. She does not want her son to know about it, hence, keeps her job a secret.

Mi-seon finally realises how Tae-poong is also having a difficult time in his work, and she should support him regardless. They later make up, and Tae-poong promises not to lie to her ever again. However, he completely omits the fact that he has put his eyeballs on the line for the money. After which, he realises that Park might defect, and when he goes to search for him at his office, he sees that he was right. Park tried to leave the city because he was afraid of getting caught and beaten again.

Park tells Tae-poong that his idea about business is not going to work because he himself failed in his business. They have a heated discussion, and Tae-poong gets the idea to sell his shoes to Europe. And to market that product, they shoot an elaborate video of Tae-poong walking on glass shards in his shoes. Though he gets hurt in the process, he’s still full of energy. They then send this promotional video of shoes to various parts of Europe and America. Tae-poong also comes up with this brilliant idea where he would pitch the product to foreign nationals living in Korea.

Though many videotapes ended up in the dustbin, there were some people who became interested in his video. On the other hand, Mi-ho is having a full-blown romance with Nam-mo, who walks her home every day, and she even kisses him on the cheek. After such a long time, Tae-poong finally hears some good news as he gets a deal. But again, tragedy struck because the shipping company refused to load his products. However, rather than accepting defeat, Tae-poong takes the shoe and threatens to beat the very thug who is trying to make his life miserable.

However, more misunderstandings happen when Mi-seon finds out about Tae-poong’s deal with the thugs. They make up and devise a brilliant idea where they plan to send their goods via ships carrying imported and exported fish. Yet, things do not go as smoothly as they would have wanted.

Typhoon Family Episode 6 Review

I liked this episode a lot because it goes into the nitty-gritties of how a business actually works. The romance is also very subtle, and the chemistry between the leads is believable. It will be interesting to see just how much more our hero will suffer and finally see some success.
