The Witch And The Beast Episode 5 Review and Recap – Obsesses With Redheads

Today, we get to see the second part of the necromancy episode and finally meet the evil necromancer who has been using his powers to use the souls of dead people for his own goals. Apparently, he had a lover who was burned to death, and instead of mourning her, he decided to revive her soul even though he knew how bad the consequences could be.
His obsessions run deep as we see him targeting only redheads, especially women. He even made statues out of many dead bodies, whom he could not maintain properly.
At the beginning of the episode, we get to know why necromancy is such a dangerous procedure. There is a proper reason as to why you must get permission from the person on whom you will conduct a necromancy or from their close relatives.
Once somebody is called back from death, they are denied the chance of getting reincarnated. After temporarily being restored to their body, they will eventually die a second time and be forever doomed to float around in an eternal void.
Even after knowing this, the evil necromancer performed multiple necromancies and did not even put effort into it cause conducting a proper revival takes much energy. Hence, he just used the souls and the dead bodies for his own experiment and he does all this just cause he craves beautiful things.
Now, he wants the body of Phanora because of her beauty. And this is where he makes miscalculations because Phanora is not your ordinary necromancer.
Not just her, but even Yohan is not as weak as he first appeared. There is a reason why Phanora and Yohan are called the greatest necromancy specialists the Order of Magical Resonance has to offer.
This episode was again dark and mysterious with ample bloodshed and gore. I like that they do not shy away from these things and keep the gloomy atmosphere alive with sinister subjects.

Verdict
I liked this episode, but do not expect too much from this series. Till now, this is a decent watch and has a very simple but engaging storyline. If you like the gothic vibe and have an interest in the occult, give the series a try.
