The Impossible Heir Episode 8 Recap and Review: Tae-oh Changes Directions; In-ah Makes Questionable Choices

The Impossible Heir Episode 8 Recap and Review: In the previous episode, Han Tae-oh (Lee Jae-wook) finds himself covered in In-ju’s blood as the latter sits lifeless alongside his mistress. The Chairman makes it clear that the news must not leak about Tae-oh. Unfortunately, that does happen eventually, making the Chairman angry at the situation. Tae-oh, on the other hand, tries to prove his innocence but he loses the battle.

The court hearings begin and Mo Gi-jun acts as the prime witness to the case. He completely changes his game and gives false statements. In-ah (Lee Jun-young) acts suspiciously as he takes over Tae-oh’s place and tries to get rid of everything Tae-oh has touched.

The hacker finds something shocking – Mo Gi-jun and In-ah have a connection. Mo Gi-jun’s mother passed away when he was young and In-ah helped him, making him In-ju’s assistant in the end. Hearing it, Tae-oh becomes inconsolable. He realises that In-ah was never on his side and while he held many secrets, In-ah was always one step further. The episode ends with Tae-oh’s verdict.

The Impossible Heir Episode 8 Recap

The episode returns to the verdict and hearing that he will be hung, Tae-oh goes berserk. The officers hold him back as he continues to say that he is innocent but the plea falls on deaf ears. He loses his battle and resigns to his fate.

In-ah, on the other hand, goes to the rooftop where Tae-oh and Hye-won (Hong Su-zu) used to meet. It becomes obvious that In-ah is aware of all the things that went down between those two. He says that ‘this is their disgusting world’, indicating that his anger runs deeper than one thinks.

He also goes back to the Chairman’s office to confirm that Tae-oh is getting capital punishment, making the Chairman visibly shake at the news. This also shows how much he likes Tae-oh while In-ah looks cool as a cucumber at the news.

Tae-oh moves to a different center where he comes across an old foe who remembers him. He tries to agitate Tae-oh but the latter ignores him completely. In the next scene, the lawyer talks to In-ah, who says that there is a chance that Tae-oh does not get capital punishment but In-ah insists that he should be hung, at all costs.

The Impossible Heir Episode 8 Recap and Review: Tae-oh Changes Directions; In-ah Makes Questionable Choices

In-ah takes a bath and remembers the pictures taken by Gi-jun of Tae-oh and Hye-won. It becomes clear that he knew from the beginning and still went through with the wedding. He makes up situations of those two in suggestive positions, getting him agitated. Hye-won walks in and he tries to force himself on her but she pushes him away.

This angers him and he chokes her while telling her that she is just a pawn in his game. He chose her because Tae-oh wanted her. He wanted to teach him a lesson to not go after his dreams because In-ah would take them away in an instant.

This changes Hye-won and she goes to meet Tae-oh. They have a long talk that leads her to make some decisions and Tae-oh to gear up for a battle. Hye-won demands a seat at the table through a position at the art foundation. Her words reminded him of Tae-oh but she is quick to dismiss it and rather impresses him with her determination.

Tae-oh, on the other hand, gets busy by taking his nemesis’ help to get a phone. Using that, he calls the hacker and tells him to find the driver of the limousine from that night because he knows it wasn’t Gi-jun. As he keeps his plan afloat, a visitor comes to the prison. He finds out the monk is his mother.

He first denies the meeting, leaving her devastated but when the officer tells him that she has come from far, he tries to go back to her. Everyone stops him but it gets too late because she leaves the prison with a heavy heart.

The hacker goes on a chase to find the driver and find a man named Roy but he gets too fast for the thugs to catch him. In-ah gets the news and Gi-jun takes care of him in the club. Looking at Roy’s dead body, In-ah makes a scary decision – to kill Tae-oh.

Hye-won goes back to Tae-oh to tell him that she has changed her dream – she wants to be the owner of Kangoh and remove In-ah from ever reaching the top. Fueled by rage and betrayal, Tae-oh accepts his mission to help her become the owner of Kangoh. At the family dinner, the Chairman announces the decision to put Hye-won as a director at the art foundation. In-ju’s widow shouts out in disagreement but he is quick to put out the fire.

The episode ends with In-ah and Gi-jun waiting to get the news of Tae-oh’s death while Tae-oh gets lured into an abandoned prison cell. The next day, In-ah visits the hacker’s place and calls him out, saying, ‘Ah! You’re the rat’.

The Impossible Heir Episode 8 Review

The story gets twisted with every episode and we cannot wait for more! With Tae-oh finally knowing about his perpetrator, it’s time he shows In-ah where he belongs. Despite being stuck in a nightmare, he remains level-headed and sane to think over his decision.

On the other hand, In-ah is losing his mind, piece by piece. With greed for Kangoh and rage towards Tae-oh and Hye-won, he is blinded to see that he is digging his own grave by picking a battle against his ex-best friend. His typical villainous look gets darker and more sinister with each decision he makes.

While the story is progressing well, it is sad that we lost the chemistry between Tae-oh and In-ah. We don’t think it will be coming back anytime soon but we look forward to the drama moving ahead with Tae-oh’s revenge.
