The episode opens with Aqua confronting Ruby, but she responds with surprising composure, telling him he doesn’t have the full picture. She admits she did influence events from behind the scenes to steer things in her favor. Still, she insists she didn’t orchestrate everything alone; she’s not some all-powerful figure. What she did do, however, was carefully analyze the people involved before putting her plan into action.

Ruby understood the director’s tendency to stir up trouble and figured he would likely corner the cosplayer with inappropriate or provocative questions. At the same time, she was aware that the cosplayer had a habit of venting online whenever something upset her. By anticipating both of their reactions, Ruby subtly guided the situation without ever appearing directly responsible.

When Aqua learns the extent of her involvement, he’s clearly rattled. He never imagined his sister could be just as calculating as he is. In fact, he always hoped she wouldn’t turn out like him, since he’s long believed his own methods are far from normal.

Shaken by this realization, Aqua seeks out Ichigo, who ends up reshaping his entire understanding of Ai and her killer. Aqua had convinced himself that his mission was over, that he could finally move forward and live freely.

The episode begins with Akane understanding who Aqua’s father might be. She realises that it is none other than Hikaru Kamiki, as he’s the one who was working with Ai in the same theatre group. She further becomes sure about this, then she digs deeper into this information. However, the more she finds out about Hikaru, the more she becomes sure that she will have to keep this guy away from Aqua. Rather than having Aqua handle the situation, she decides to take it upon herself to get revenge.

On the other hand, Aqua calls Akane to ask whether he should obsess over revenge or move on. Akane obviously says that it is not her place to decide for him, and whatever decision he takes, she will always be there to support him. While on one hand, Aqua is getting a support system in Akane, Kana is having a difficult time with not only love, but also work. She is torn about the fact that Aqua does not like her anymore. Plus, it’s about the fact that Ruby is getting way more attention than her.

Thus, to get more gigs, she gets in touch with the director thanks to a senior. This decision becomes one of our worst ever, as she gets herself into a situation from which it becomes very difficult for her to save herself.  This episode was interesting because it gave us an insight into the film industry and how difficult it is for actors and actresses to get proper jobs. We also see how easy it is to completely destroy someone’s life just because they live under constant camera scrutiny.

Verdict

I loved today’s episode for its realistic depiction of a star’s struggle. I empathised with Kana and believed in her frustration. I am also eagerly waiting for the next episode to see what happens.
