Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 5 Review
In Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 5, the plot progresses in a way the show has been known for. We have three parallel storylines running as our three curious hunters are running behind their own suspects. In the last episode, we saw that Joy also turned out to be a potential suspect and Charles is unwillingly going to talk to her soon about it.
Thus, one of the prime subplots in this episode is Charles talking to Joy about her lipstick in Ben’s backstage room. However, digging this grave unearthed a lot of worms, including one which makes Charles look rather unreliable. The significance of the white room episode comes into play in this one so seamlessly that it is beautiful.
Meanwhile, our other two main characters have their romantic interests blooming, of course without sidelining the murder mystery. In fact, Mabel is seen on a date with Tobert in this one to find details about Ben’s understudy. But, what they seek leads them to a far tempting discovery- a mystery doctor who treated Ben and is now a suspect in this case.
Oliver’s romantic interest is Loretta, like all of us had predicted. He visits Loretta for a lunch date at her overcrowded place, and it is not the best time for him. He manages to find enough clues linking Loretta’s obsession with Ben and is insulted enough by him to have a murder motive.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 5: Final Thought
Overall, Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Episode 5 is a really enjoyable episode compared to all the releases so far. It brought back the spirit and essence of the show with the three parallel storylines in progress and a production design alongside direction that was commendable. It was also fun having to juggle between three suspects and more.
With one of our prime characters turning out to be more involved in the murder than we would expect them to be, the show is taking a risky but exciting turn, and we want to be on board with it. Hopefully, as we progress things get more intense and fun for us.
