Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 21 Recap

At first glance, the people working under Kawashita at Tanpopo seemed harmless. They appeared like ordinary folks, enjoying card games and feasting together. However, it quickly becomes clear that this is just a facade. Back at the Yozakura mansion, the team is briefed on Tanpopo’s whereabouts. Their base is located on Skeleton Island, about 30 kilometres from the mainland.
We also learn that a significant amount of Hazakura has been planted on the island, meaning the Yozakura family cannot afford to fail this mission. They need to plan their attack carefully, which is set to happen within a week, and coordinate with the Hinagiku organization. Taiyo must undergo intense training, and his grandfather steps in to help. Having trained alongside Momo, Taiyo’s grandfather is the perfect mentor, though his training methods are far more dangerous than anyone else’s. The results, however, speak for themselves.
But the highlight of the episode is the introduction of the fully awakened state known as the Blooming, a powerful ability that only those with Yozakura blood can access. However, since Taiyo was chosen by Mutsumi, he too should be able to achieve it. Exactly what Taiyo’s Blooming is and how his abilities manifest is something you’ll need to see for yourself.

Mission: Yozakura Family Episode 22 Review And Recap
Today’s episode showed us the calm before the storm as it opens with the Yozakura family enjoying a picnic. Not only them but the people from Hinagiku and the spy organisation are also here to partake in merriment. Apparently, this is a tradition for the Yozakura family that before every important battle, they must come to their very special cherry blossom tree that has been within their compound since the time of the 1st generation head. The tree is not normal as it has bonded with the Somenine present in Yozakura blood and, in return, provides healing abilities.
In this picnic, Mutsumi also discusses the three most important missions that they must cover in their Skull Island infiltration. Firstly, they must get hold of all the Hazakura present in the skull island. Next, they must secure and ensure the safety of everyone who has been captured by Tanpopo against their wishes. The third mission is to understand the actual intention of Momo Yozakura and test whether he is a threat or not.

However, apart from these three missions, Kyoichiro also discusses another very important mission, but just with Taiyo. He believes that his mother’s body, which was never found and deemed destroyed in the accident all those years back, is being utilised by the people of Tanpopo. To back his suspicion, he rightfully mentions how, without experimentation with the real Somenine, the great effects of Hasakura would not have been possible to deliver.
It seems like Kyoichiro has actually started to warm up to Taiyo without even realising it. He tries to deny this by saying that because Taiyo is an outsider, that is why Kyoichiro let him know about this secret. But we all know that is not true. In this episode, we also witnessed the Yozakura family and other spies finally descending into the skull island and starting their infiltration with a bang.

Verdict
Today’s episode was pretty average. The first half was mostly playful, and it did not add to the storyline that much. The mood was lively, and they became serious about the mission in the second half. The real deal will start next week.
