MasterChef India Season 7 Episode 57 is hosted by Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and joined by Garima Arora as a judge on the show, the seventh instalment of the series has been produced by Endemol Shine India and directed by Neeraj Shetty. The latest episode, titled ‘Biryani Challenge’, that premiered on March 21, 2023, at 9PM IST, continued to evaluate the contestants on the basis of the previous challenges forwarded to them, in addition to presenting them with a new task that required mastering the art of Biryani making.
The cooking competition show is a nationwide quest to find the best ‘home cook’ and draws out some of the most brilliant chefs from across India. The judges sample recipes from various cuisines that the contestants prepare in their search for India’s ‘MasterChef’. And after going through many challenges, one will win the grand prize and the titles.
Episode 57 puts forth the new challenge of mastering Biryani preparations. However, the audiences can’t seem to make sense of the new tests being put across to the home cooks during the finale week. They’re not only disappointed with how some contestants performed throughout this episode, but are also questioning the level of tasks being used to test the top remaining contestants. Some fans have even called out the Biryani challenge as being a rather “frivolous” choice to pick out the ultimate finalists in the competition.
On the other, many viewers can’t come to comprehend that the home cooks are being handed out black aprons even during the finale week, when the show should be narrowing down the numbers of contestants in the race already. In places where the common feature of the show and the aspect disapproved by the audience, i.e. the judges’ favouritism, showed up, only Chef Vikas’ witty one-liners seemed to have save the day for them. While they wish he’d kept up the same energy through the course of the entire season, they’re still happy to witness this side of him, and have proclaimed him to be the “saviour” of this episode.
