Kohrra Season 2 Ending Explained
In the second season of this gritty crime-thriller set in Punjab, Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi and Sub-Inspector Dhanwant Kaur try to figure out who killed a young woman in her own home one night, with the series starting with the discovery of the gruesome crime scene. The police are called, and they and the viewers slowly realise the escalating tension comes from within, a rot that has eaten away at everyone and everything.
Who is the killer?

In a shocking twist, the killer turns out to be one of the househelps in Preet’s home, Rakesh Kumar, who, after losing his mental stability, accidentally killed him. He didn’t know what he had done when he did it, and even after his arrest, he didn’t have any idea about his actions.
After fighting with Johnny Malang one night, Preet found Rakesh wandering into the home, unaware of what he was doing. Sympathetic to his plight, she asked him to leave the house and go back home, but Rakesh killed her in a fit of rage, his mental stability completely wiped.
What secrets were hidden by Bajinder Atwal’s family?

Bajinder and his father had been keeping men as slaves in their barn and home after getting them to Punjab on the pretext of giving them jobs. The truth comes out when the barn burns down with the men inside, leading to a huge investigation. The most surprising part is that Bajinder was completely okay with exploiting these poor people and keeping them imprisoned, acting incredulous when asked about his horrible actions.
Why was Preet fighting with Bajinder?
Through their investigation, Dhanwant and Amarpal figure out that this isn’t a crime of passion but rather a problem stemming from within the family. They realise that Preet had been fighting against everyone for the injustices that she was being subjected to because she was a woman. On top of asking Bajinder to let the men trapped in his barn go, she was also fighting to get her rightful share of the ancestral property, something that Bajinder had claimed to be his own and handed over to his affair partner.
What happens in the end?

In the end, Rakesh Kumar is arrested, but whether or not he will be fit to be judged in court is a different thing altogether. Throughout the series, his son, Arun, was trying to find his whereabouts and, in the end, the two of them meet as they share neighbouring jail cells. It’s a bittersweet ending for the two, as Arun will probably go to prison for murdering Raju Sirda, pushed by the system that forces innocent people to act in desperate ways.
Either way, we are given hope that Amarpal and Silky, who have been separated, might overcome their differences, while Dhanwant lets go of her son’s memories and focuses on her husband’s pain and moves on.
