KanKhajura Ending Explained: Who is Scamming Whom in This Twisted Thriller? What Happens in the End?

KanKhajura Ending Explained: In this SonyLIV Hindi series, Aashu, a seemingly pitiable man in jail for murder, gets out early thanks to working as an informant for the police. However, once outside, he starts to manipulate everything and everyone around him, causing a ripple effect that will destroy everyone’s life forever.

The series has 8 episodes, each with a runtime of around 30 minutes, and is based on the Israeli series Magpie.

KanKhajura Ending Explained

The series starts with us getting a brief background on Aashu. He’s spending 14 years in jail for seemingly murdering a foreign woman in front of his older brother Max, and Max’s friends. The others testified against him, and it was a slam-dunk case. However, he is getting off early because he has agreed to work as the police’s informant, helping convict criminals as required. Out of jail, he comes back home to his brother, excited to start life afresh.

Max, on the other hand, had almost forgotten about Aashu. He and his friends, Pedro and Shardul, are now running a construction business, and Max’s dream project is on the way to getting completed. However, there’s one problem – the leader of the colony, Deshmukh Bai, refuses to give up her claim if they don’t give huge bribes.

In comes Aashu, who gets rid of every obstacle in Max’s path. He manipulates everyone around Deshmukh Bai and makes them go against her, which results in her and her sons dying, getting rid of the biggest obstacle. However, he also tries to get rid of Pedro and Shardul from Max’s life, foiling all of their work till now and deliberately making things worse. This results in the three friends fighting with each other.

At home, too, he grows close to Nisha, Max’s wife, who takes a liking to the seemingly immature Aashu. He tells her about the horrifying bullying that he faced at Max and his friends’ hands when they were younger, and Nisha is shocked to learn of all the lies that Max has told everyone to get what he wants, including her.

Is Aashu Who He Says He is? Why Does He Lie to Everyone?

To the world, Aashu is a pitiable creature with a stammer who runs around Max looking for validation. However, after coming out of jail, something is different about him. Despite still searching for Max’s validation somewhere or the other, Aashu is a man on a mission. He wants revenge for what Max, Pedro and Shardul have done to him, and he does this very meticulously and without mercy. He sows seeds of doubt in everyone’s minds and makes everyone fight with each other.

He lies and manipulates everyone with one single agenda – to destroy the three friends like they destroyed his life. And for this, he can go to any extent. He orchestrates the entire fight with Deshmukh Bai and pushes everyone to their limits, which wouldn’t have otherwise taken such a turn. This puts Max and his friends on the police’s radar. He saves Max from coming under fire after one of his associates get arrested in a rape charge but it puts the spotlight on him further.

We might think that he’s trying to help Max, but Aashu is always thinking about the bigger picture.

Why Did He Conspire With Nisha?

In the end, we see that Nisha testifies against Max, telling the police that Max has been acting weird lately. By then, the police had arrested Max for Pedro’s murder, which, again, Aashu had orchestrated. He made a police officer and Pedro go to Cathy’s old house for information exchange (Pedro was working as an informant), and, on the other hand, asked Max to meet him there. What Max didn’t know was that Aashu was never supposed to be at the house. So, when Shardul caused the gas cylinder to burst, they unknowingly killed the police officer and Pedro. On top of that, Aashu also took a video of Shardul leaving the crime scene.

With no way to get out and no alibi, Nisha is well aware that Max is not going to get out of this. Keeping Ira’s future in mind, she decides to work with Max’s politician uncle and put him behind bars so that she can now head the company and keep making money instead of going down with him. Again, all of this was Aashu manipulating Nisha – in fact, he was the one who came up with the idea.

What Happens in the End?

In the end, Shardul is forced to flee so that the police don’t catch him. Nisha’s testimony leaves Max in prison, and Aashu is finally free of his brother’s influence. As it turns out, he did want to make amends with Max at first, but realised that Max hadn’t and would never change. He, thus, got his revenge against his tormentors and can finally enjoy some peace.
