Who is Kenjaku?

Kenjaku, an ancient practitioner of curses, has endured for more than a millennium through his inherent technique. This unique skill enables him to transplant his brain into other individuals, thereby gaining control over them. Across the centuries, he has inhabited various hosts, seamlessly adopting and assimilating their identities into his own.

Kenjaku also seized control of Noritoshi. It was under the guise of Kenjaku as Noritoshi Kamo that the invention of the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings occurred. Remarkably, he stands as the sole individual possessing the knowledge of transforming a sorcerer into a cursed object after death, a skill not even known to Sukuna during the Heian Era. Noritoshi earned notoriety as a ruthless individual, and his experiments during the Meiji Era were deemed so abhorrent that all records of them were obliterated, including the curses that emerged as a consequence.

What are Death Paintings?

In the Meiji Era, Noritoshi managed a temple to which the woman, endowed with the ability to birth human-spirit hybrids, had fled. Her stay at the temple is documented in history, revealing that Noritoshi Kamo, driven by intellectual curiosity, had ostensibly taken her captive. During this period, he conducted a series of experiments, subjecting her to nine pregnancies and subsequent abortions. These experiments ultimately gave rise to the creation of the nine Cursed Womb: Death Paintings.

Choso is one of the nine Death Paintings, and it was revealed that Noritoshi had purportedly infused his own blood with certain cursed wombs, leading to him acquiring the Kamo family’s ancestral innate technique: Blood Manipulation.

Are Choso and Yuji related?

Despite their inherent differences, Choso and Yuji share the unique bond of being technically half-brothers. Kenjaku took possession of Noritoshi Kamo’s body and used Choso’s mother to bring him and his siblings into existence, Yuji was also conceived in a similar manner. Kenjaku possessed Kaori Itadori and, for reasons unknown, gave birth to Yuji. Consequently, while Choso and Yuji lack a biological connection, labelling them as brothers wouldn’t be inaccurate, given the intricate ties forged by these mysterious and unconventional circumstances.
