First Lady Episode 11 Recap

The episode opens with Hae-rin confessing to murdering Soon-jeong and then explaining to the police that it was an accident and that Su-yeon is actually innocent in all of this. She further mentions that she fled from the scene during the accident because she was afraid of hampering Min-cheol’s campaign if news spread about her murdering the candidate’s lover. Even after the election, she couldn’t turn herself in until the Special Act was passed.

Elsewhere, Su-yeon and her family await news on Hyun-sook, who is eventually put into a medically induced coma. A devastated Su-yeon is left heartbroken, and Min-cheol apologises to his wife for doubting her. But then, he does ask her whether she had colluded with Chairman Yang or had anything to do with the H Group chemical disaster. Su-yeon is left in disbelief at his words and screams whether or not he cares about her at all.

Su-yeon eventually meets Hoon, who accepts causing Hyun-sook’s accident and blames her for it because she doesn’t listen. Annoyed, Su-yeon finally reminds Hoon that if he can blackmail her, then so can she and plays a recording of him saying some very illegal things regarding helping him in exchange for getting illegal votes. Anyway, she promises to release all the recordings if Hyun-sook doesn’t wake up, and after she leaves, a bunch of officers arrive to search his offices.

Later, Min-cheol meets Sang-hee, who finally confesses that it was Jin-myeong’s idea to frame Do Tae-hoon as the arsonist and Min-cheol as the mastermind of the entire situation and get the heat off of them. She further tells her that Su-yeon had also arrived to beg her father not to frame Min-cheol, as it will destroy his career, and instead agrees to help him fan the flame against Tae-hoon. Days later, she again came back for another deal – look elsewhere as she destroys Jung-yeon and Jin-taek.

As it turns out, it was Su-yeon who caused the H Chemical fire, something that she has been trying to stop for so long. As we see, Su-yeon ordered the fire to be started after negotiations were going nowhere, and the realisation leaves Min-cheol absolutely devastated as he remembers watching his friends burn to death.

As the series slowly comes to an end, viewers will be left shocked and devastated at the turn of events this week. As Hae-rin goes to prison, Su-yeon’s truth left me completely taken aback, and I am still not able to accept the truth. The episode is completely thrilling and will leave most viewers on edge as the truth is revealed together. However, doubts still arise as these aren’t the most loyal or truthful people out there. I am still desperate to know the truth from Su-yeon, but the sneak peek hints at Ji-yoo being kidnapped and all that, and I am already not interested in it!
