Paramount Pictures recently released the Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves final trailer and it looks downright exciting. This adaptation of the role-playing game of the same name stars Chris Pine, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, Daisy Head, Hugh Grant and Jason Wong, alongside other cast members. The film is directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein who also join as writers along with Michael Gilio.
The film chronicles the story of these four heroes trying to defeat one of the greatest villains of all time, the Red Wizard of Thay. They will be the main villains in the film and this new trilogy will shine a light on their adventures and their misgivings during this time. The trailer starts by showing us the heroes standing in front of a cave-like crevice looking at a dragon that soon springs towards them, forcing them to escape the region by portal-ing out of there.
After they escape we get a first look at the enemy they will have to defeat and it is a cult of people in red robes conjuring some kind of spells and magic in the storm. There is this skeletal being ascending above all converging all its magic in the centre. The reason why these four heroes need to defeat her is that she has been killing their people, more like executing them as the character specifies. We then see a barrage of people trying to go against the red wizard. They are holding them back with some shield-like energy circles.

The heroes have been stumped by this new danger and evil energy made its way through their realm. As one character remarks, this is something they have never seen before. New creatures, some cute ones and some downright vicious will be going up against them. The heroes have multiple quests ranging from mazes to fighting exciting creatures. We finally see the Red Witch fighting directly against the heroes using her magic to set the challenges.
Meanwhile, they barely duck and defend to do any sort of defeating. However, they do have a plan and it involves corpses. One of the same guys who opened the portals explains how he can raise the corpses five questions before they go back to being dead. There seems to be some cutting humour as well as intense action sequences. The kind of fantasy elements that are present in this film is unparalleled and will completely redefine the genre should the film become a hit.
