The Netflix documentary follows one of Brazil’s most famous cases involving the tragic death of a five-year-old girl. Who Got Convicted in the Isabella Nardoni Case?

On the basis of the investigation carried out and the forensic reports obtained, Alexandre Nardoni and his wife Anna Carolina Jatobá were charged for the murder of Isabella. The trial began in 2010, almost two years after Isabella’s death. The couple also testified in front of the jury and both denied having murdered Isabella. The documentary mentions that the five-day trial ended with Alexandre being sentenced to 31 years, 1 month and 10 days of imprisonment and his wife to 26 years and 8 months for Isabella’s death.

The film reveals that after their conviction in the case, in June 2023, Anna Carolina Jatobá was granted probation and left prison to serve the rest of her sentence in an open regime. As for Alexandre, since 2019 he has been serving his sentence on parole with the benefit of occasional furloughs.
