A Day and a Half Plot

The film is inspired by true events and will revolve around Artan, a man who takes his ex-wife Louise hostage on a road trip through Sweden with the police in tow. Police officer Lukas is also along for the ride. Artan hopes the summer trip will help him reunite with his daughter. The thrilling and emotionally charged road trip takes them through rural Sweden amid a hot summer.

The thriller stars Fares Fares as police officer Lukas, Alexej Manvelov as Artan and Alma Pöysti plays Artan’s ex-wife Louise. Also, Stina Ekblad plays Wanja, Bengt Annica Liljeblad stars as Anna. The cast also includes C.W. Carlsson, Annika Hallin in the role of Dr. Gardelius and Johni Tadi as Dr. Yakoub.

The Swedish drama marks the directorial debut of Fares Fares, who previously worked on projects such as Westworld and Chernobyl. He has written the film’s screenplay alongside Peter Smirnakos. The movie is all set to release on Netflix on September 1, 2023. It has been produced by Warner Bros. International TV Production along with Johan Hedman as executive producer. Also, Christina Legkova will serve as a producer alongside Hanna Lundmark.

The trailer of the film has been released and it promises the film to be a rollercoaster of emotions. The main plot of the film is intriguing and the trailer suggests how the performances of Fares Fares and Alexesj Manvelov will keep viewers hooked to it.
