Diamond is back from his tour, and so he plans a party in South Africa, inviting all his friends. His buddy Naked takes the responsibility of inviting everyone, including those that have beef with each other. All the people, including some new faces, join the party, and it becomes a mess. Diamond is pissed at Andile, his friend who is flirting with Zari, the mother of Diamond’s kids. He has moved on from Zari but feels uncomfortable to see his friend hitting on her out of all the women.

Annie and Swanky are having a misunderstanding that becomes the tea of the group. Swanky, who is a don’t-care fellow, disrespects Annie straight in her face making her leave the party to keep her respect in place. We then have Bonang joining the party, and she is the ex of Nadia’s current boyfriend. Moreover, Nadia and Bonang were best friends who split up. The amount of weird connections won’t fail to astonish viewers.

After the party, the friends meet with their selective people and trash-talk mercilessly. The fact that they’re friends and they backbite gives me icks. Amidst these scenes, what bugged me the most is their locations and dresses. How rich are these people? I understand the show’s concept, of course, they’re rich, but damn, they all look expensive 24/7. At one point, I wondered whether they were dressing up only for the show.

Moving on, the number of betrayals in one episode— how can I endure more till the 9th episode? Every episode has a new drama, and the women fighting for a man is the end limit for me. These women term themselves as Queens and fight over a man who has the least interest in them. Thankfully one or two ladies have sense, and they try to point out that the men are at fault, but nah, the clawing ladies just won’t listen.

Can we talk about Andile? The man really got on my nerves. He is interested in Zari, the mother of Diamond’s children. Alright, this isn’t too bad. But why is Andile triggering the feelings in both his ex-wives? Which dumb person would invite their not-so-well-going two ex-wives to their current crush’s birthday party? This madman did. He invited Rosetta and Seba to Zari’s birthday, only to witness both wives yell at each other. Seriously?

There’s this new girl Fantana. She claims she is the youngest of them all and smart but acts immaturely. It’s evident that Diamond is least bothered about her, but she still believes he is keeping her at #1. Rosetta well knows that Diamond has a current girlfriend, and he is clearly lying. Luis also tells her that she is more than a side chick, but this woman just won’t bother.

Good heavens, there are too many cranky things in this show that I can keep talking about. The more and more I watch I envy their riches. They have beauty, wealth, brains, and whatnot? But basic decency isn’t on their plate. Wherever they go, a drama comes, and they scream out their lungs. However, the reasons would be so petty. Please stop.

Young Famous and African Season 2 Review: Final Thoughts

I envy them. If I had had their money, I’d be calm and peacefully enjoy my life. With all their wealth, they are trying to create chaos, that’s it. I’m worried about their kids, though, because imagine them having to grow up only to realise how their parents’ relationships are utterly disturbing.

  1. I just finished up this season and it was a waste of my time that I will never get back. Grown adults with drawn out drama. It was tiring and aggravating. I was hoping that there would’ve been a great ending. I don’t think I’ll be watching next season if there is another one.

  2. I expect drama but this cast is too aware of the 4th wall. It was so bad that when real information started to be shared someone would say “you are saying this in front of the cameras.” Uh. Yeah. This is supposed to be reality not just drinks at the bar, horsetrack and restaurant. Get Todd or get Carlos King to do it. The only upside is the fashions.

    • Oh damn, their outfits really astonished me. Like the colour theory, their outfits and the makeup—phew! Probably the only aspect of the show that’s noteworthy

  3. I love this show however, this seasons drama, was overkill. These humans have so much money and all they do is argue over things that are irrelevant. Swanky is my favorite but, when you and your Bestie have grown apart, let it go and move on. SOME people are put into our lives temporarily. Their friendship has expired and will never be the same now. Fontana, the newby, read the heck out of Zari though. Whew chile!!! Hopefully, Season 3 will show more travel, small disagreements and more splurging. ????

  4. I just wish the show was more realistic in terms of actual life problems. I mean. You’re rich we get it but gossip and fucking around can’t be all y’all got goin on … and as for Andiles Baby mamas… sooo random.

  5. I was so looking forward to season 2, boy am I disappointed! Fantana girl control your mouth and emotions as a newbie, you should have taken time to read around. No one has brought so much foul language to the show like you have done. Ok I get it you did time in jail in the USA for criminal behavior but girl chill, it makes you more appealing. This season the fashion was great I love it!
Season 3? I don’t know! After everything that went down hmmmmmm, I certainly want to know how Luís is caring on, how Nakay are planing for the next big step and hmmmmm Andile please just marry someone neutral! I like Seba though!
Dearest Swanky, what happened to you?

    • I too like seba I think Rosette is just being so petty and immature at the same time.she thinks she is the only one who should own andile since she was the first wife I am just pissed off with her cause what the f**k why is she exposing sebas past life she is being stupid

  6. Review is a good one!
Khanyi Mbau is the worst of the lot! Get off your high horse! Sure, you have money, but does that give you the right to disrespect people? Luis, you talk way too much… so much air time? And as for Kari, accept that you crave attention. We all saw how you were acting around Diamond and Andile. Fantana was right to call her out!

  7. No me gusto está temporada deberían de mostrar otras facetas de los personajes,el drama y el chisme está pasado de moda es bueno otros temas

  8. Season 2 is a shocker! I agree with your review, you were polite. Fantana with her trailer mouth is jealous because she is just a side ride. Way too much toxic behavior from women who should know better than to tear each other down. Andile confused about his two ex wives and invites them both to Zaris party where they shout at each other. Eish! Really???
All three need coaching on the dynamics of these relationships, otherwise how will it change?.
With all that money, would this not be a consideration? Unless he likes the drama between them over him.
Poor Annie with her marital/ friend problems.. two seasons of it.
I love Swankys outfits but the ladies wigs are baaad… whats up with that?
Anyway watch at your own peril of lost time, never to be regained..

  9. Season 2 was a waste of time. If they don’t get their storyline together, ratings next season won’t even exist. This season had too much going on, too many new faces and it was just all over the place, unorganized. It was an L for me.
