Netflix is bringing a spin-off from the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before universe, and the XO Kitty Twitter review confirms that the show is going over extremely well. Created by the original writer Jenny Han and Sascha Rothchild, it will be directed by Jennifer Arnold, Jeff Chan, Pamela Romanowsky and Katina Medina Mora. Alanna Bennett, Chris Martin, Hanna Stanbridge and Siobhan Vivian, join the crew as writers, while Lindsay George and Sandra Valde-Hansen serve as cinematographers.
Meanwhile, the series stars Anna Cathcart as the main character Kitty, while her love interest, Dae, will be played by Choi Min-young. Other cast members include Anthony Keyvan, Jocelyn Shelfo, Théo Augier Bonaventure, Ivan Melgares, Alexander Morel, John Corbett, Yunjin Kim, Sarayu Blue, Sang Heon Lee, Gia Kim and Peter Thurnwald.
This series focuses on the youngest Covey sibling, Kitty, who had tried to channel the elements of fate to her by moving to South Korea in order to get back with her short-time boyfriend Dae, with whom she felt a strong connection back when she went to visit Korea for a while. However, this time it isn’t just about a boy. She is about to go to the same school her mother went to. It will be a new adventure but also a way to connect to her roots in Korea.
However, what she wasn’t expecting was that there would be some insane schedule that would keep her from making this the romanticised foreign adventure she was hoping for. When has surprising someone you love ever gone well? To add salt to the wound, she gets there and finds out that Dae has been dating someone else, but she can still find romance with the people in the school. It is blatantly obvious that even though she has sworn off Dae, he would be crawling back to her for attention.
The only question is, will Kitty find her path alone, or will she take refuge in people who are ready to be with her? Fans have taken to answer these questions with great zeal. However, the online XO Kitty review is mostly derailed by the fact that K-pop references take over any critical thought about the series. Netizens are incredibly excited to see how these references were seamlessly made while the romance between the characters was still the main attraction.

Enemies to Lovers is such a popular trope that fans have fixated on crazily. Moreover, they have highlighted the many tropes from this series that have ruled the romance genre since the beginning of time. Songs from the band SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, BTS, BLACKPINK and solo artists like Wonho are just some of the incredibly popular artists that have been featured in the series, in addition to 2PM’s Taecyeon making a cameo. Apart from stealing the hearts of everyone in the audience, it has also made the series seem like a collaboration between the two regions rather than an unequal balance.
Going back to the roots of romance, we also have fans who are rooting for the sapphic couple, while others are still reeling from the beauty that is Minho. They are calling him the plot and the main reason why the plot works so well in the series. Moreover, the grocery shopping trope and the general brilliance that Jenny Han brings to the romance genre make the fans so happy that they are already expecting a second season from the series. Meanwhile, people have also chosen teams, some even before the release, showcasing the range of how much people wanted this.
