Wind Breaker Episode 2 Review: This season, we get another new delinquent anime, which is turning out to be an entertaining watch. Now, let us see if this anime is really going to be great or not.
Wind Breaker Episode 2 Overview
Wind Breaker is a popular manga series from Japan that was written and illustrated by Satoru Nii. The series was first published on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket manga website in January 2021, and it has since been collected into sixteen tankōbon volumes, as of March 2024.
The anime TV series adaptation of Wind Breaker is scheduled to debut in April 2024 and is being produced by CloverWorks. The director of the anime is Akai Toshifumi, who has previously worked on popular anime series such as Fate/Grand Order: Shuukyoku Tokuiten – Kani Jikan Shinden Solomon and Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia. Fukushima Yuuichi is producing the series.
The opening song of Wind Breaker is titled “Zettai Reido (絶対零度)” and will be performed by Natori (なとり). The ending theme is “Muteki (無敵)” and will be performed by Young Kee.

Wind Breaker Episode 2 Review and Recap – First Day Of School
Today’s finally the day Sakura will go to the infamous Furin High School, but before that, he needs to take care of something. And it is none other than transferring a grandma on his back who claimed to have bad hips. She did not have any bad hips she just wanted to use him as free transportation.
At Cafe Pothos, things are lively in the morning when Sakura begrudgingly delivers the grandma there complaining but still being considerate in his own way. The townspeople have figured him out and understand that he is a tsundere who is just mean from the outside but kind from the inside. Hence, it is very comical for them and for us to see Sakura struggling when someone genuinely shows him appreciation.
Not only that, but we also get introduced to another new character Nirei, who is very much of an eccentric guy. He is very talkative and enrolled at Furin because of his extreme devotion towards the Bofurin. Though at first, Sakura and Nirei do not get along things happen and they both become pretty close towards the end of the episode. This pair reminded me of Bakugou and Deku a bit too much. Nirei even keeps notes on everyone from the town just like how Deku does with heroes.
The school showcased here, is straight out of a delinquent manga as it is dilapidated and showcases graffiti all over it. Even the classroom looks like it is full of Yankees who do anything but study. We also get introduced to other characters who are definitely going to be very important later, but we do not get too much information from them as the episode ends pretty quickly.

Verdict
I liked this episode very much and wish to fast forward to next week as soon as possible. We’re finally entering the phase where new characters will emerge and pose a challenge to Sakura. He will not go down without a fight and this being an action anime, I expect lots of action sequences from it. There is also a mysterious figure who appears in the shadows but is never shown directly. He is definitely the leader of Bofurin and I can’t wait to see what this character is like.
