Who Were We Running From Trailer: Mother-Daughter Duo On the Run as One of Them Harbours an Unspeakable Secret

Netflix’s international content list never dries out, and to take it to the next level, the streaming platform is soon coming out with Who Were We Running From (Biz Kimden Kaçiyorduk Anne), a brand new Turkish series based on Perihan Mağden’s book of the same name.  Umut Aral and Gökçen Usta have directed the show, which is likely to have seven episodes all in all.

Throughout the full-length trailer, as released by the platform on March 8, 2023, both Melisa Sözen and Eylül Tumbar’s characters can be seen fleeing unexplained dangers. The mother-daughter pair never stick to one place for long as the former’s mysterious past tags along with them, and compels them to live as fugitives on the run. Resorting to hotels instead of a stable foundation as their residence, they keep switching from one location to the other as the mother sees homes as enclosed prisons.

Their ultimate home is their company for each other and their unwavering bond. Bambi (Tumbar), however, feels tired of the constant running and the lack of security and stability in their lives and is promised by her mother that she’ll be set free from this vicious circle one day. But, that’s not all. While that promise comes across as a comforting thought, it also makes her fear her mother and all that she’s capable of achieving if she sets her mind to it.

Despite all the consolations, Bambi has lived with her mother far too long for them to be separated now, and she still chooses to stay beside her. She’s well aware of the fact that in spite of their unbreakable bond, some conversations are off the table and can never be brought up. Their absolute goal, however, is their undeterred hope of escaping the cycle, as nothing around them reassures them of their safety.
