Where the Crawdads Sing trailer gives off the perfect mystery-thriller vibe, we have all been looking for. Based on the novel of the same name by Delia Owens, book lovers know how big a sensation the book has been and, has been critically praised by many. The trailer for the upcoming film based on this book did not disappoint and, rather built the anticipation for the film.
The film is directed by First Match’s Olivia Newman based on the screenplay by Beasts of the Southern Wild’s Lucy Alibar. The 3000 Pictures film is being produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter under the banner of Hello Sunshine. In fact, the book was even a recommendation at Witherspoon’s book club. Where the Crawdads Sing will star Daisy Edgar-Jones as the central character (Kya Clark, referred popularly as the Marsh girl throughout the book as well as in the trailer), who rose to fame with Normal People and was recently seen in Hulu’s Fresh.
The other acclaimed cast members include Taylor John Smith as Tate Walker, Harris Dickinson as Chase Andrews, Michael Hyatt as Mabel, Sterling Macer, Jr. as Jumpin’, and David Strathairn as Tom Milton. Where the Crawdads Sing trailer featured Taylor Swift’s new song- Carolina.

The trailer description for the film on YouTube reads: “Where the Crawdads Sing tells the story of Kya, an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. For years, rumours of the “Marsh Girl” haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men from town, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world; but when one of them is found dead, she is immediately cast by the community as the main suspect. As the case unfolds, the verdict as to what actually happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that lay within the marsh.”
