Meanwhile, Hae-dal wonders about how her daughter called her aunt the day before and shares her concern with Jin-dal who tells her that Ha-yul may have not liked what happened. The next day, Mi-ja keeps worrying about the situation with Sang-tae when she comes across Yong-pil on the way to work.

He sees her worried self and asks if he has made her angry and she denies the same before the two head to her work. Yong-pil changes the buoy cover for Mi-ja while Sang-do is annoyed by the gossip among the other divers who can’t stop talking about Sam-dal and Yong-pil. Soon, the ladies head off to dive while Yong-pil leaves for work, however, a wave makes Mi-ja sink as she struggles to come back to the surface due to her chest pain.

This alerts the others when Sam-dal arrives there while on a walk with Sang-do. She is surprised and worried by what happened to her mother and complains to her to go to the hospital and stop diving. Later, her mother secretly leaves some of her catches in front of Yong-pil’s house which is thrown away by Sang-tae.

Elsewhere, Dae-young tries to meet Jin-dal again and finally comes across her while she is on a walk with Hae-dal and Ha-yul. However, seeing Ji-chan there, Ha-yul calls Jin-dal mother which comes as a shock for the two. Later, she tells him that Ha-yul is her niece and it would be better for him to leave before her parents catch him.

Dae-young tells her that he was happy when he saw her but she reminds him of the mess that he needs to deal with which was created by her. Right then, her father appears and she rushes him away, while elsewhere Sam-dal gets hold of a diary containing information about a person suffering from a heart disease.

She suspects her mother is sick and asks Yong-pil about the same when her father doesn’t give her an answer. Yong-pil doesn’t reveal anything and Sam-dal gets distracted by her friends who see them walking together. They ask about what they have been doing together when Eun-u’s eyes fall on the pamphlet in Sam-dal’s pocket.

They find out about the event and push her into taking part while Gyeong-tae brings out the picture she once took around the island. This shocks Sam-dal as she contemplates taking part in the event. Yong-pil tells her that he will be waiting for her to go for registration the next morning and Sam-dal shows up.

He also tells him about Mi-ja being a heart patient which is overheard by Sam-dal who is made to rush to her mother.

Meanwhile, Yong-pil makes calculations to find Mi-ja while one of the divers runs to Mi-ja’s house to tell her daughter about what has happened. The two rush to the seaside while Sang-tae also hurries when he sees the ambulance and the women running. Everyone arrives at the seaside looking for Mi-ja whose whereabouts are unknown.

Welcome to Samdal-ri Episode 8 Review

Another look into the past leaves us thinking that maybe it is Mi-ja who is the target of Sang-tae’s resentment, and the burden is left to be borne by Sam-dal and Yong-pil. This episode throws another ray of light on their past which once again catches our curiosity.

On the other hand, our little cupid Ha-yul’s efforts seem to be going in vain as her mother and aunt are unable to understand what she has been doing. Meanwhile, Sang-do’s efforts are making our hearts break because we all know that he can never be what Yong-pil is to Sam-dal.

This has been another episode filled with ups and downs, along with just the perfect amount of comedy and intensity that makes us keep watching the show.
