Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 11 is the eleventh episode of the latest season of one of the most anticipated sequels of this year. Vinland Saga is an action, adventure, and drama series directed by Shuuhei Yabuta and based on an original manga written by Makoto Yukimura. The latest season is being animated by Studio MAPPA.
A tale set in the golden age of Vikings, Vinland Saga follows Thorfinn, son of the greatest warrior ever to set foot in the world, Thors. Even after Thors moves away from the violence he had been embroiled in since his youth, it finds him and his family anyways as he tragically lost his life to the same people he once deemed his fellow warriors. Thorfinn swears vengeance and vows to defeat the person who started it all and to find the fabled Vinland, a paradise somewhere west.
Season 1, or the prologue of the series, saw Thorfinn become a vassal of the newest king of England and Denmark, Canute. However, in a tragic turn of events, he was unable to avenge his dead father by killing Askeladd, as he tragically lost his life trying to save his homeland from being invaded by the Vikings. Thorfinn must now find a new purpose in life, one that doesn’t involve revenge and eating his life in a fruitless pursuit. It is time to see how Thorfinn grows as a person.

The parallel story will continue in this episode, featuring more of Canute’s devious undertakings to take control of the entire world, alongside Einar and Thorfinn’s much more low-key efforts to get their farm going. Mind you, for them, this is practically a life and death situation, as no life can ever be happy if it isn’t free. Thorfinn and Einar are seeking freedom, which is a far nobler pursuit than anything Canute has or will ever do.

However, Canute still has a fascinating arc going on his own, something that seems to be straight out of “Game of Thrones”. He took the life of his own brother, whom he got along with, in pursuit of the same power he never wanted to have. The show also then twisted the knife in even deeper by showing us the relationship that the two shared and how kind Harald was to Canute. Well, if he can do this, then there really are no limits to where Canute can go.

Thorfinn and Einar stare with disbelief at their farm as they chop the last tree and realise that the hard part might finally be over. Ketil arrives and tells them that he will honour his promise to them and set them free as soon as the first seeds are planted. However, he needs to come back from visiting King Harald before that. The same Harald, who is Canute’s older brother, and who Canute poisoned to assume the throne of Denmark.
