Villainess Level 99 Episode 10 Review: In the last episode, we saw Yumiella trying to find Alicia, who got lost. Let us look at how this episode went below.
Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I’m Not the Demon Lord or Akuyaku Reijō Reberu 99: Watashi wa Ura Bosudesuga Maō de wa Arimasen (悪役令嬢レベル99 ~私は裏ボスですが魔王ではありません~) is a new anime series based on the Japanese light novel series with the same name written by Satori Tanabata with illustrations by Tea.

Directed by Minoru Yamaoka, the script of the show is written by Fumihiko Shimo and character designs are handled by Hitomi Kaiho and Lo Ho Kim.
Mayu Maeshima lends her voice to the opening theme song, Love or Hate?, while Fairouz Ai and Rina Hidaka, embodying their respective characters, perform the ending theme song titled Suki ga Rebechi (好きがレベチ, Love on a Different Level).
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Villainess Level 99 Episode 10 Review and Recap: Yumiella Gains A Sword
The mystery behind Alicia’s disappearance finally comes to light in this episode. And no, the things that we thought might happen to her did not happen. She was not kidnapped by anyone, nor was somebody hypnotizing her and luring her away. Alicia was simply a victim of the game and was controlled by the plotline.

However, this is not the first time this has happened to her. Previously, as well, when Alicia tried to make decisions about important matters by herself, she got possessed by an outside force and did exactly how it wanted her to do.
Alicia definitely did not understand why this happened to her and has accepted the fate since. But our protagonist, being someone from the real world herself, understood her ordeal. Yumiella also suggested to Alicia to train herself, so that she could fight the upcoming battles without any help. And for Yumiella, the best way to train is to go to a dungeon and kill monsters.
Sadly, our heroine forgets that no one is as talented or nonchalant as her about such matters, and we see a frightened Alicia screaming her head off in a dungeon full of monsters. This episode finally showed us that two of the most important characters of this anime grow closer at last in the process of growing stronger.
I never really hated the character of Alicia, even though the men around her are absolutely incorrigible. Thankfully, she has the decency to treat Yumiella like a normal person now that she is somewhat past her fear. She has finally become a proper friend to Yumiella, and hopefully, she will continue to support her. But do not worry, Alicia had an adventure with Yumiella that only began in the dungeon, and there are many more things they experience together in this episode. Both Yumiella and Alicia also get their very own swords.

Verdict
This episode was pretty nice, and I really enjoyed the adventure that Yumiella and Alicia go to. I like that they are finally over the phase where they will be each other’s enemies and are now working together to defeat the demon Lord. But what is still a bit of an off-putting thing from my end is the use of apparent CGI, which really did not look good here. Nonetheless, other than that, this anime is a decent shoujo romcom anime that you should definitely check out.
