Varisu trailer has been finally released after the poster was unveiled recently. It is an upcoming Tamil-language romantic action drama film, the title literally means ‘heir’ or ‘vaaris’ in hindi. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Raju, Shirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. It is co-produced by Sri Harshith Reddy and Sri Harshitha.
The star cast of the film includes Thalapathy Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, R Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Srikanth, Khushbu, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Nandini Rai, Ganesh Venkatraman, Sriman, VTV Ganesan, John Vijay, Bharath Reddy, Sanjana and others.
The story and the screenplay are written by Vamshi Paidipally, Hari & Ahishor Solomon, following a man named Vijay Rajendran, who is a happy-to-go lucky man. But his chilled life takes a turn and things change when his foster father dies unexpectedly.
In the trailer, we hear the line ‘A house is just made of brick and mortar. Is family the same?’, followed by a scene of a family gathering where a man asks why the other person hasn’t introduced his youngest son? It builds the base of the story that the youngest son, played by Thalapathy Vijay, is an outcast of the family, mainly because he is adopted.
But when his father suddenly passes away, he has to take over his position, which doesn’t sit well with his other brothers. From then on he will encounter many life-threatening events and opposition at his father’s company, as seen in the trailer. There are also hints of adorable romance between him and Rashmika Mandanna, who plays the other lead and his love interest.
Overall, the film is all about family and keeping it together as we can hear in the last dialogue, “Every family will have its share of flaws and wants. But what we have is only one family.” The film is gearing up for a massive opening in a few days and will also be available soon after on Amazon Prime Video as the digital streaming rights were acquired by them.

The film is scheduled to be released on 12 January 2023, in the week of the festival Pongal.
