Unstable Plot/Synopsis
The trailer starts by showing the protagonist, who is this over-talkative, slightly awkward, but a mostly intelligent scientist, Ellis, who has invented many brilliant things. Calling him a mad scientist would be a cliche this show definitely did not take the bait for, but it did manage to create something hilarious by using the same prompt in a much different direction. His colleague, Anna, has to deal with his shenanigans, including but not limited to a hawk.
The example of Nikola Tesla doesn’t seem to go over too well, and this is where things start to go downhill in his own company. Ellis has lost his wife, and his son, Jackson, hasn’t gone to meet him since the memorial. Jackson doesn’t really like hanging around his father since he tries to control his personality and the man he wants to be, but Jackson’s partner reassures him by keeping his expectations low. Armed with some kindness and support from his partner, he makes his way to meet Ellis.
Meanwhile, when Ellis tells him to be exactly a version of himself, Jackson is proven right. The son thinks that Ellis always wants him to emulate his father’s traits, but that isn’t possible because he is his own person, and their experiences change them differently. At the same time, Ellis is going through a power struggle in his own office, where his co-workers are ousting him from his own company. It doesn’t exactly go according to schedule because of a slight closet issue.

Jackson is trying his best to explain why he doesn’t want to be more like Ellis. His list includes Ellis’ childishness, his ability to think about nobody but himself and his trying to see the most inappropriate silver lining in terrible situations. Jackson is not thrown off completely and instead asks his dad what he wants to do and why he isn’t able to do things. He is tired of problem-solving and wants to feel excited, and his friend comes through by suggesting they all go to Ibiza, the cradle of civilisation.
Anna is trying her best to get Ellis’ job back. She has been speaking to the board members who say the word scoff instead of actually scoffing and continue to go after their boss because he has been ruining their lives. Jackson is clearly warming up to his dad now that they have to work together. As he continues on this journey, he realises that his dad is a little eccentric but is also kind and a brilliant innovator. The barriers between the two generations seem to be falling.
The duo have truly started connecting and are even working together in the same lab without blowing it up or each other during the course of their partnership. They even have moments of true humour and joy that comes across in the video.
