Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 9 Reactions: Hwa-ryeong’s Warmth Wins Fans Over

Under the Queen’s Umbrella Episode 9, again, justified the title of the series because everyone is safe under Queen Hwa-ryeong’s (Kim Hye-soo) purview. With the events of this release falling into place, even Prince Sim-so (Moon Seong-hyun) knows of this fact now. Hwa-ryeong doesn’t just look after her sons. As she’s mentioned on several occasions, it’s her duty as the Queen to look after all the princes in the palace, and just like that, she’s now saved Sim-so’s life as well.

After the fateful incident passed over, her words to Consort Go’s son felt like a warm hug extended even to the fans. She advised him to assert his opinion even if it goes against what has been asked of him and if he can’t bear the burden of something he doesn’t wish to engage in. And the fans have accepted that as a personal message delivered to them, thus seeking solace in Hwa-ryeong’s embrace. There’s a reason why she’s the best mother among the lot, and she proves the same every weekend.

The episode put a straining responsibility on the shoulders of the princes still fighting it out for their positions in the contest. However, the subjects assigned to them are now turning out to be untrustworthy, as opposed to what had been demanded of them to bring them – to bring them back along with themselves to the palace. The audience had a blast witnessing Gye-seong (Yoo Seon-ho), and Seong-nam (Moon Sang-min) play their cards right in following their instincts rather than following the guidelines blindly.

Amid the cut-throat contest, Grand Princes Muan (Yoon Sang-hyun) and Seong-nam found some loving relief in their probable love interests – Cho-wol (Jeon Hye-won) and Cheong-ha (Oh Ye-ju), respectively. The fans happily welcomed this change as a sweet and reassuring sub-plot within the series.
